Since they don't seem to read the comments on these discussions, I'd very much appreciate if you could mention to them how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid the new damage model is. With the number of shots it takes to disable an enemy, I might as well just run to them and shove the rifle up their ass. Which I'm afraid is what they're trying to get players to do, to play BTW the way they play Battlefield 1. That's another serious concern.
On release this was pretty much a simulator. Now it's Battlefield: WW1. I cannot understand why they would put so much effort into making every single aspect of the game as realistic as humanly possible and then throw it all out the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ window because reasons. It's been a while since I last played this and I don't plan to get back to it by no means, but it's so sad to watch as the once only truly realistic great war game falls from grace. It was the only one and they purposely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up, it's honestly heartbreaking. And even worse, they'll happily continue to do so.
I used to love Beyond The Wire during the first few months after release. I'd at least like to know the reasons behind these nonsensical choices, why they've taken the game in a completely different direction.
I trusted Redstone and I bought their game the day it released on early access, so I think it's only fair.
(If you're in a position to do so, that is. Should have asked about that first).
Except that, I Really love the game, its a shame theres practically no players and the poor performance...
As for the damage model, the reason given was to shorten the average distance of firefights and to reduce one-hit kills from distances where you would barely see the enemy. In return, a hitbox for the central nerve system was added, which (alongside headshots) will also instantly kill you regardless of distance. Please let me remind you too that none of these changes are, like many others, all subject to change. It is very much possible that the system will be tweaked again. Your feedback is valuable, even if it may seem like not much is done with it.
Alright. Good to know that. Agree to disagree in most regards. Already filled the form, always do. And I always mention the same things. But I seem to be the only person who's against most of the changes. By the way, I still believe the upcoming customization and progression update serves absolutely no purpose, especially seeing as BTW was initially pretty much the Squad of WW1 games. It was perfect, and I'm afraid this "feature" is going to draw in a lot of players that do not care for this type of game in the first place.
It's a cheap way of keeping the players coming back. But what sucks here, is that they'll come back not because the game is great and because it's the only one to date to get most of it 100% right, but because they want a stupid helmet cosmetic. Plus, the progression could also cause players to just send it and play "competitively", which would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare come true. I think that's serious.
I very much appreciate your reply. I'm a hot headed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I'm blessed to be related to both WW1 and WW2 soldiers. Please don't take it personally. Thank you for your time, this is the first time anyone ever replies to my comments.
Barotrauma, Post Scriptum, Ground Branch, even the incredible Deep Rock Galactic. There's always at least one of you people, claiming that certain games are dead. There are thousands of you repeating the same sentences, but none of these awesome games are dead. Is it a new sport or something?
