Seems to me you just didn't take the trigger warning seriously and now want to shift the blame into the Developers. They are entitled to tell the story in their vision, and if you ask me it's treated with the utmost respect and tact, never showing anything too graphic or explicit.
Remember this is supposed to be a horror game, Devs just didn't want the standard jump scare evil ghost story. It's the most terrifying type of horror, things that humans can do.
The OP has issues, sure, who doesn't. I don't think I ever implied I had a high IQ, it's not a club I aspire to join now anyway. I'm not even sure that's relevant. @alavander took the time and patience to outline their unhappiness, it's step 1 of breaking the cycle. Learning what your triggers are is around about step 4, right after basics like calming and removing the problem. Very often you have to go through a state of anger first, to properly process and to galvanise yourself into action. So I'm just seeing this warning as just that. A process, but by warning other people, the act of posting is made constructive and witness.
Should we ban all crime drama and horror next? If this game never existed, this thread would not exist. I've lived over 21 years of my life denying what went on around me, fear and hate are hard to forgive. I'm not going to say that personal experience does not count for zilch, that would be unfair to other people who were in my country too. I would be remiss to sweep anyone else's personal experience under the rug in the same way. So yes, I will defend free speech and all story tellers who want to paint on the canvas without fear.
I will never understand these people that seek the good vibes which is pretty much lying to themselves. Where there is something possitive then there is something possitive.
Anyway,
There is freespeech and story telling and there ARE consequences for those things. Anything related to kids such topics and suicide topic I'd rather not touch it IN THE MATTER THAT GAME PRESENTS IT. It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and it is already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up knowing that some of these people capable of doing such things are breathing same air as me be locked up or not acted yet.
The problem is as well what is becoming of gaming industry as of a late and special with the Steam Store becoming more and more loaded with these stupid and non sense hentai ♥♥♥♥. Opinions have consequeces this is why is freedom of speech. You're free to a point when you either piss someone off and you get told off or smacked.
I, respect that you try to be find sense in defending this ... thing ... call it product but I fear you should try to defend something else. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Yawaste!
(before you burn me on the cross, in many european countries the age of consent is 14-16)
It's frightening that I have to point this out but just because you can ♥♥♥♥ 14 year olds does not mean you should.
@Malandor. Yeah, I'm one of the gyrumpiest sods on the planet when it all boils down to it. I'm very unhappy right now, Christmas is horrid. For many reasons. But being negative, is my default and I have to fight it. I got a load of steam bans a year ago because I was just letting the grumpy out all of the time. No I don't think Hentai should be on the store, I have temptation issues with it too. I did not realise how bad it was because I had blocked that and many other tags years ago. Blocking a thing ignores it, but that works for me.
Suicide, sure I think all the grumpy people "know" the darkness. But I worry more about people who have real agency, who have real baggage, things like physical or mental abuse. I have not had to deal with those at all; even though I have given out mental abuse myself in the past to be honest. Not struggled with alcohol and drugs, don't have that problem. No mental illness, being a bit hyper and mad, yeah, that's me, but not real mental illness. My only cross, is racism. And so for me I cannot say any of these are equal to physical and sexual abuse, but any abuse is evil. Not the same level as, but evil in itself. Poison is still poison.
Everyone has suicidal moments, and I gradually mentally skip all the friends who seem to think sharing cat videos will make the world a better place. Facebook is just full of people lying about how they feel. You can tell someone to just smile and feel happy, but if they don't want to live, then, it's no good. What disgusted me about this, is this story seems to start the abuse when the sister is far younger. And the abuse, was clearly not a complete secret. In the game, I initially tried to justify the abuse with some prior event perhaps, but I also came around to abhorrence of the actual act here depicted. Regardless of history. Just last week a multiple kidnap murder case that went through the system was in the news, because the kidnappers wife did not even know what her tradesman husband was up to. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-63680955 . His wife ended up identifying him as the murderer later though, creating a breakthrough in the search. It feels bizarre that a abuser can work alone without anyone knowing. All through this "game" I kept trying to work out where society failed us at large. If someone wants to jack off to anime, that's another social problem altogether, but when people fail to spot abuse or an abuser, that's a crime of neglect to not report it. If you see something suspicious, report it. If this game did not exist, I would never have taken the mandatory training on identifying child abuse seriously. Yes I have at times worked with vulnerable adults and children, and I used to poo-poo the mandatory training. But since playing this game and others with similar secrets being kept, I've seen the training in a different light. We should not have to put people through it, no excuse.
