Hey, you can press Z to advance the title screen (it's the confirm button). It's saying that because it thinks you have a controller connected but it can't detect the type - sorry about the issue. You can customize the controls for keyboard and controllers in the options menu.

I'm having the same problem. Only things that are connected to my computer are my mouse & keyboard, my headset and a monitor. I have tried playing with a controller but nothing happens. I also pressed Z (and all of the other buttons on the keyboard) and still nothing happend. I have reinstalled the game too. Do I have to get a new PC or is there a simpler way?

Sorry you're having this issue! Here's some questions that might help me figure out what's going on:
- Is the controller working right now in other apps, like Steam Big Picture?
- Have you tried restarting your computer?
- Are you seeing the same B0 bug the person above mentioned?
- The logs might contain useful info, they're located here:

Windows: C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\LocalLow\adamgryu\A Short Hike\Player.log
Mac: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Hi! Thanks for the respond. My controller does work on other games. I also have restarted the computer many times and yes I am seeing the B0 bug. I have found the log. I don't know should I post the log here becouse maybe it contains some personal info.

Hey, I had the same problem. The key to success was that I looked up where the 'z' is on a QWERTY keyboard and pressed that key on my QWERTZ keyboard.:steamhappy:
