Is VR version significantly better?

I just can't be arsed to dust off and set up my Rift right now, especially since it now requires a Meta account which potentially makes it a decently priced brick.

Should I just try the game as is or is it so much better in VR that I'd rather wait and try it later?

Really GREAT in VR! (Worth waiting for but although you can use Valve Index controllers, once you get the “move things and manipulate them” upgrade it works better with the xbox controller on bluetooth.)

But to clear it up - so is it better with motion controllers or Xbox controller? I have both
