Letters no longer show up

I'm really enjoying the game (8/11 achievements so far). However, I reached reached the Review section of the second last lessons (99/103) from Hiragana and the letters are no longer showing. To fix it, I tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, but this didn't seem to fix the issue. Any idea how I can solve the problem? (really want to 100% the game). Thanks in advance....

That moment when you hit the hardest of walls.

I was doing pretty well until I hit the "S's" and bombed so hard, It took me many failed attempts before I was able to memorize Sa, Shi, So, Se, Su... o_O Anyone else struggle on those?
