I have given up on machinery on fields for now.
+1
In general it seems like everything is overly complicated. Actions that could be accomplished with one click take two, three, or more. Lots could be streamlined here it would seem.
+ 1 Having to feed the dog and cat isn't fun, it's just an annoying distraction
+1 I want to focus on managing the farm
Agreed. This is, by far, the biggest annoyance in the game. Even if it was a 2-click process it would be okay.
But as it stands today, it requires something like 4-5 clicks to water a single field.
Select worker > Select tractor > WAIT (can't queue other tasks yet) > add water sprayer > use machine on field.
I think this could be simplified by a couple ways:
Allowing tractors to be stored WITH the equipment on them, this would make it 2 clicks. GoTo Tractor > Use on field
Allowing a direct option from within the tractor such as "Water Field" or "Spray Field". GoTo Tractor > WAIT > click on field, the tractor fetches the tool automatically.
Fully automating the process of Select worker > use tractor to spray field might be a lot of steps for the game's AI to do, but as it stands, having it be 4-5 clicks is just too much. Especially when the vehicles create traffic jams at garages and grain silos.
[Edit:] I've discovered that you can technically click on the Tractor > Tool in Shed > SCROLL back to the tractor > Add Tool > Opens the Employee menu that you can choose someone to do this task.
However, this is still a lot of clicks and now you have to scroll back to the tractor after clicking on the shed.
The game is chill and relaxing overall but everything relating to the driving is overly complicated or you need to micromanage. It would be nice if you could load the vehicle from a silo or house with one click and then trade at the Trading Center. Having to tell someone to drive the vehicle or get out of the vehicle seems like extra unneeded steps if the AI is intelligent. Trading at the Trading Center would be nice if there was one window for sell and another window beside it for buy, I accidentally ended up selling what I just bought because I did the buying first. That was my mistake but it would have been nice to do both tasks at one time.
For driving also it would be nice if some of the bugs were removed. My truck got stuck on the road and the worker exited the vehicle leaving the vehicle stuck on the road backing up traffic. When I told my worker to get back in the truck to fix it they said they couldn't route there. After that in the same save file I told my worker to trade at the Trade Center and the vehicle took off without me. This left my vehicle too far away and my worker couldn't get to it effectively breaking my game.
more crop selection
sprinklers 1 that ca be clicked on and spray water pesticide or fertilizer
now, an NPC walk to a tree, picks all apples wich are 4, goes back to the silo and then continues to the next tree. one char can carry 50 pieces of anything. he could harvest 12 trees before having to return to the silo.
same applies for working on fields, the guy walks with 5 carrots each instead of collecting the whole field at once.
also, the chars are overly SLOW, it would be nice if they would behave like at WORK not like on VACATION.
... and they become even SLOWER e.g. when ordering them to go from the car to the silo - already obvious in the tutorial setting. seems the pathfinding scrubs them along the car as an obstacle instead of guiding them around it.
