I have tried whatever guide I found on the net, to no avail. Its frustrating a lot especially when every other game I got runs flawlessly on my high end rig...but this cant even launch aaah

Same problem. The launcher opens (with music), but so far with standard settings and also adjusted settings: no start of the actual game possible, stays a bit black, then closes itself. Does this maybe have to do with the recent W11 24H2 update??

Try this...

1. Right click on game in library
2. Mange - Browse Local Files
3. Right click on .exe file for game (not launcher) and choose Compatibility
4. Click disable full-screen optimizations
5. Click apply then OK

If this does not fix it try alt+tab on the keyboard a couple times and see if that works. I have to do both.

Guys....It randomly started working...out of the blue...although this isnt a fix of course

Next, uninstall all Visual C++ (32 & 64 bit) and restart PC, install all Visual C++ (32 & 64 bit) from this link and restart PC

Also, this happens because now is using the original launcher that there was initially and not the 2k launcher that has appeared later

Hard to believe they sell a broken product that doesnt work on the latest Windows 11 version. Disabling fullscreen optimization does not fix the problem on my end. But why am I surprised... They havent fixed 60hz+ fullscreen support on PC for years and you need third party fixes for a game that came out only 4 years ago. These companies are shameless.

Are you using Windows 11 24H2 build?

I followed some of above but it was mostly about re-attempting several times that worked. I have Win 11 24H2 and first i looked in the event viewer and 1). disabled nvidia overlay globally 2). Uninstalled all visual c++ as recommended above and reinstalled per golobulus suggestion. 3). (Reboot) Launched via steam and selected 'launch launcher' option, and i noticed the pointer do a little bit more which was turned into a hand icon before it immediately closed. So i tried it again and it worked. Just try launching it that way over and over and it should eventually work. Good luck
