i would definetly go for 5 first.... of they 2options.. and then wait for an upcomming sale.

but my real tips.... as u not played any of the series

is to buy SE 4 ,,,
when it be on a sale -90% ..... probably at next Major Steam sale....

ad me as friend you can get se4 cheap but se5 is your best option , it has Invasion mode which all previous SE series did not have and FOV slider.

4 and 5 are extremely similar for the single player game part. If 4 is cheap start there for sure, its a little dated but the graphics are still fine.

also for both 4 and 5 there are some more maps in the DLC. A lot of dlc is fluff, but the extra maps/missions are nice.

If you go for resistance first you are missing out big time.

Personally i would get either 4 or 5 dont get Res yet its super buggy (classic day 1 game in 2025)

All are very fun. You cant start at SEIII and go on

If you want multi-player, then you'll find the most enthusiastic and skilled players in SE6 right now.

For solo campaign, SE4 is the best game, but SE5 and SE6 are good too. SE2 & 3 are not recommended.

There's also the original Sniper Elite that's dirt cheap right now. I am aware that it's quite outdated but in my honest opinion it's well worth the money.
