30XX 1.0 Technical & Known Issues FAQ
Hi! Now that 30XX is at 1.0, here's a thread of the common technical issues our players are experiencing, along with known workarounds.

Some of these will be 30XX bugs that we're working on fixing - some are out of our control (like Windows Defender attacking folks' installs).

TECHNICAL STUFF

If your game doesn't save in between 30XX sessions:

The most common cause of this is Windows Defender blocking access to My Documents/30XX/. Check your Windows Security Virus & Threat Protection - you may need to whitelist 30XX.exe, or stop the service from setting your My Documents/30XX/ folder as read-only.

Windows Defender sometimes tags fresh updates as containing malicious code - 30XX doesn't contain malicious code.

See these steps[support.microsoft.com] to add a whitelist exception for 30XX.

Ive noticed when using 5120x1440 resolution everything on the edges of the screen disappear. Any plans on fixing this??

I just thought id mention I did run into a bug toward the end of the first of the final stages with a friend I was playing with where during the dialog the game seem to softlock.. i think it had something to do with the prototype that allows you to skip bosses.. might be something to look into but also this was shortly after the game released so it may have been patched already! thanks!

Somehow, Windows defender flags this game a virus. Just happened today, even though it was working fine before.

Well, that is all anti-virus software is good for these days for the average user: false positives and bloating down your system. Research it.

The game freezes (and only sometimes unfreezes) whenever there are too many projectiles onscreen at once.

Same as all above. Getting the following message whenever I try to start this game:

Failure
Failed to start process for 30XX : "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software." (0xE1)

Does not only apply to Windows, my Avast AVP also blocked the config files to be completely synced to Steam properly without notifications.

Noticed it because game constantly lost the controller button rebinds, but everything else was normally saved (even entropy level or character choice and skin).

Temporarily deactivating my AVP, rebind buttons, close game, wait for Steam sync, activate AVP again, restarting game... voilâ, remapping is saved. Now it is fixed and can't be changed unless I redo the process, but this is fine for the moment.

Still weird that AVP seem to identify certain files in the player profile as harmful and block them. Means there is something in the code that is also used by viruses or hackers as well.
