FF8: Remastered will not run
When I go to play it, it says

"A program error has occurred.

error : 1257528903 : 2114
glfwCreateWindow failed"

Anybody know what this is about how I could possibly fix it?

Try to run it as administrator.

Don't forget to write appropriate review then.

Try switch window mode, if you use fullscreen, try borderless window and on the contrary. Also be sure you not run the game on integrated graphic card. A lot of people have similar problems here. Find the topics, maybe you will find the answer there.

I thought of switching the window mode and that didnt work unfortunately. I'm using a windows 10 laptop. How could I find out if its got an integrated graphics card and cant run the game on administrator. I'm appreciate the help though

Same here. In german though. This is really embarassing for Square Enix. It is a C# stack trace, that shows where the program hanged itself. It tried to read a file, then "WriteDefaultFile", where it expected something because it tried to call last() on an empty collection, what then caused the error. Some people are saying, that you just need to locate a config file in a certain directory and it would run then.

i might have found the solution, at least it worked for me. i updated my internal video driver (laptop) and that did the trick. Nothing else worked. i didn´t even know the game was using the internal graphics since i have a better video card on pci.

Go to properties > manage game> local game files > right click on ff8.exe > properties > compatibility and make sure that 'full screen optimisation' is turned off

What did you update your internal video card to?

I didn't do anything special. I just change the "Display Mode" in option to "Windowed" and it worked.
