I bought Pinnacle myself but can't recall exactly if it does what you want but I'm pretty sure it does. It's incredibly flexible from what I recall (haven't needed or touched it for many years.)
Thanks. I checked out JoytoKey but it looks like it has a learning curve that I don't feel like bothering with right now. I actually tried using Steam to configure my controller in a way to use more abilities. I was trying out different things and I got it to a point where it's... kinda hit or miss. I got it set up to hold right bumper and press a x y or b to use skills 5 - 8 It works good for togglable abilities but it's not really reliable for actives except Ice Barrage. It's something for now. Better than reaching for my mouse.
Edit: nvm you can use the joystick mouse input method for camera
I've also tried mapping keyboard controls onto my steam controller in the past, here's the result, you can use it as a template: steam://controllerconfig/102500/1464085827 (just copy into address bar in browser)
I don't think it's perfect, but it was the best I could do at the time, if I decide to redo it I'll share it here again.
I haven't thought about that. So using my gamepad but making the game think I'm using keyboard and mouse? That's pretty smart actually. I'll give your template a try. Thanks!
Unlike the previous one, movement is not sacrificed while using the radial wheel, and potions are much easier to access. The scroll wheel action layer is simply for scrolling long text boxes, and is replaced by the mouse control action set, so ignore that.

Only problem is while attacking, the game sometimes doesn't do what I intent to do, like charge attack while I'm simply spamming the button, I think this is due to a mouse click simply being faster than a button on the controller, so the developers adjust how long the click has to be held for controller and mouse seperately, not quite sure how to fix that.
Cool work! I was trying to make my own setup but I don't know my way around these action layer and action sets so mine was kind of a mess. I used your last upload as a template and I'm pretty happy with my setup. I'm using an xbox one controller which I guess I should have mentioned from the beginning. I have abilities 1 -4 functioning like they do on a controller (right trigger + button pad) and abilities 5 - 8 mapped to right bumper + X, Y, B, A. I'm not sure what you were going for with mapping your abilities because I don't think that part of your setup was converted over very well to my controller, but hope it's working out well for you.
The only thing I didn't like is the clicking sound everytime I use an ability but I found an old thread showing how to disable it. Kind of weird not hearing it in the pause menu now but it's ok. The camera also doesn't automatically follow me while running now so I'd have to get used to that. Besides that I'm pretty happy with my setup so thanks for your contributions. As for your problem with attacking, if turbo is turned off and activation type is set to regular press then Idk. You could try messing with the fire start and fire end delay sliders and make sure toggle is set to off. That's the only things I can think of. I'm still trying to learn more about these functions myself. Good luck.
I tested it myself and it seems to move pretty seamlessly between kb and controller inputs without sacrificing anything but lmk if there's anything wrong with it and I'll fix it
It's on the community as 'post reckoning' but here is the link:

Thank you for the idea gundam, I came here myself looking for a solution and now I think I have it :)
if they kept this feature for steam deck then mine should work fine for you as sc and sd are very similar
