I am impatient since it is the last one missing to complete my collection ( okay & Quake Wars ), but who knows what they plan.
Question is, will they remaster Wolfenstein 2009 for all platforms or just bring it back to Steam?
All id Games supposedly share the same universe ( now? ) ( kinda obvious due to Quake III already kinda doing it) and I heard Quake II Remaster added a few new links to that.
So they might have planned release dates for the games?
Okay, it might be overthinking and wish fulfillment, but I hope Wolfenstein 2009 comes together with Wolfesntein III as both feature opening gates to a shared universe.
Youngblood teasered Dimensions and Wolfenstein 2009 had this one:
"The Black Sun Dimension (German: Nachtsonne-Dimension) is a dimension parallel to Earth's dimension."
It would be a perfect double package.
I want to have at least a fov-slider and a wobble-slider otherwise it still works completely fine. For a remaster I would not expect them to redo stuff, just updates with some necessary fixes. Achievements would also be fine.
Also if a company buys existing games abandoned by others and invest money to remaster them they deserve to be paid... otherwise we wouldn't even get some old games back.
And this is not about defending ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices some publishers do.
If Microsoft continues their free remasters and you own the original Wolfenstein 2009 on Steam already you should get an update for free anyway if they make one.
I did alter the config myself, so I can live without a remaster, but it would be a neat addition anyway.
I would love to see at least a patch of this game to run on Windows 11 and so on
Its not able to run on windows 11 I have
if a game is not working I generally try everything from win 95 up to whatever the most recent option is
The game got pulled (along with Heretic II) shortly after Zenimax purchased id software. It has something to do with Activision being the publisher of the games. And now Zenimax which owned id has been purchased by microsoft.
I mean if they really wanted to invest the time required into figuring out the legal issues between them and activision I'm sure they could. Someone from Bethesda tweeted YEARS ago that they were working on getting these games re-listed and then not another word.
I honestly think they just have forgotten at this point.
