Disable Autosave

I am finding no obvious option in settings to disable autosave. My environment storage is ssd, so I appreciate the option to disable autosaves. I have documented the save file at ~4.8MB. That's very small, but ~520 turns of autosaves equates to ~2.5 GB of writes.

While 2.5GB for a full length play-through of the grand campaign is not a super big deal, I would appreciate a way to prevent autosaves altogether. Thank you.

You can't disable auto saves, but they don't pile up indefinitely, I think at most 9 are kept, per game.

I've plenty of storage, but I would prefer to avoid unnecessary writes to storage, because it contributes to wear and tear.

I have been told by the people in charge of the underlying Archon engine that if you switch the 12 autosave files to read-only, it will prevent further autosaving.

So, switch 99000.LSF to 99011.LSF to read-only, and you are good to go.
