Zensei fight last stage maybe could use a checkpoint?
Short version: A game shouldn't have insta-kill obstacles at all. Most games shouldn't have them. They're fundamentally bad in anything except a rage game with instant respawn.
More importantly, a boss fight shouldn't have an insta-kill auto-scroller at the bottom half of the screen, while you don't see what's in front of you/above and can't move forward.
It ESPECIALLY shouldn't have an insta-kill mid-screen badly telegraphed climbing autoscroller with obstacles, as a no-checkpoints 5th stage of a boss battle after 4 stages of repetitive precision platforming.
This is padding. This is trash. I can probably tank those 4 first stages blindfolded.
Please add a checkpoint in the middle, so people like me don't need to spend 3 minutes to get insta-killed once again, and again, and again, and again, and again?

I have to agree. If anything is worse than forced scrolling part in platformers, it's forced *and* blind scrolling part with rubber-banding where you can't either look ahead nor gain some safe distance by playing better. It's Ginso Tree all over again.

This is a terrible design to make the boss "harder," except it's more cheap than challenging. I hope devs will rebalance this part, or add a checkpoint at the very least.

agreed, plus i feel like it would be better if the platforming section was a bit longer and the camera was zoomed out more. almost every time i died it was because the camera was too zoomed in and i couldn't see what was above.

That last auto scrolling part is ticking me off so much right now. The camera moves so slowly when it ascends as well, which makes it more difficult than it needs to be :steamfacepalm:

Edit: Just noticed that a dev completely ignored this thread when he responded to two other threads on Jan. 5 :(

Wholeheartedly agree. The fact you have to endure the pointless cutscenes every time (despite that useless skip prompt) only adds insult to injury. Most games with cutscenes are savy enough to understand they need to be shown once when you just first encounter the fight. Overall I feel this is just an overall terribly designed encounter that detracts from the whole experience quite substantially.

Agree. I enjoyed this game and story right up until this boss. It will probably join the "never going to finish" pile of games

I wasn't feeling this game and this was the final straw. Zero respect for the players time, I'm not wasting more time on the first stage of this fight just to be instakilled.

It would be fine if there was checkpoint after the first phase of the boss fight.
I think I'm dropping this game at this point.
