Frequently Asked Questions, or the Wisdom of the All-Father.
Q: What DLCs do I need?
A: You will need both The Old Gods and Rajas of India. Optional, but recommended are the Norse Portraits and Norse Unit Pack. Sons of Abraham will let you donate to the holy order.

Q: Will the mod work on Linux/Mac OS X?
A: I do not know.

Q: What version of the game does the mod require?
A: Crusader Kings 2, 3.3.x

Q: How do I get the Norse to India? It's really far away.
A: You can either take the hard way and fight your way to India, or you can take the easy way and just pick the new bookmark so generously provided to start in the Maldives.

Q: Where is that bookmark it only shows me the five starting scenarios?
A: Please click "Custom Game Setup", and then "Old Gods and New Rajas"

Q: I conquered land in India but my culture hasn't changed to Indo- or Dravidian-Norse. How long do I have to wait?
A: The melting pot events are randomised and will fire between 50 (if you are lucky) and 750 (very unlucky) years. High Learning helps.

Q: Why are there two different Norse melting pot cultures?
A: Because of the way culture groups work, I am sadly not able to make a culture that can be in more than one group at once.

Q: What are the retinues of the new cultures?
A: War elephants.

Q: Can I convert this into EU4?
A: Yes. A unified Norse India has a custom flag and ideas.

Q: Can I use other mods?
A: That's difficult to say, but to be safe no. Small focused mods that do not change cultures could work, but I'd really have to look at it first to say for certain.

Q: What languages does the mod support?
A: English and German. If someone wants to do French/Spanish/Russian translations I'll gladly include them.

Q: How do I switch to Hindu-Germanic faith?
A: It is randomised and will take 60-80 years. Your character needs to be not zealous and a variation of Norse culture, as well as Germanic or Hindu religion.

Q: Will the holy order, Lodbroks convert?
A: Yes, they will switch to Hindu-Germanic.

Q: What does the Hindu-Germanic faith do?
A: You will be able to intermarry with Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Norse and Reformed Norse. You will be able to traverse rivers, loot your foes and steal their women. Additionally your priests may be female and marry. Your religious bonus is 30% bigger retinues.
Finally, you will be allowed to use Seniority and Feudal Elective succession.

Q: Are there patron gods and what are they?
A: Hindu-Germanics are able to choose from six different patron gods: Odhin, Thor, Phereyar, Phereya, Nordar and Tur.

Q: How and what can I contribute?
A: You are more than welcome to help with translations or events.

Q: How can I donate?
A: You can gift me wallet funds, non-cosmetic DLC or look at my wishlist. Although to be honest, there's no guarantee I will play any of the games because I badly curate my wishlist.

What about patron gods?

The pictures of people vanish once the melting pot cultures start appearing. Do I need the Indian portrait pack?

Not sure right now but that seems plausible after they changed their dlc handling, yes.

Thank you for the prompt answer.

Does the Hindu-Norse religion still fire 60-80 years after the Lothbroks are formed?

Hello, the TGF.3323 event in oldgods_events.txt doesn't have the hindu_germanic religion in the third block of OR clauses, which means that unless you have a Viking bloodline you will stop upgrading your score, even though the various traits allow the hindu_germanic religion. Is this intentional?

EDIT: Also, jarls_religion.32 has d_jomsvikings instead of d_lodbroks, this looks unintended.

Fixed, thanks.

Thank you for fixing them. There's also a small localisation issue with the Lodbroks, they fall back to the Jomsviking localisation of vanilla when they ask you for money and other events, I suppose that this might be a known issue instead.

I meant to ask, is it fine to make a compatibility patch for HIP and the Expanded Map Edit submod (it's a submod that adds the whole of India to SWMH)? I've noticed those issues because I'm working on making your mod compatible with those mods. I've read in the comments that it's fine to use your mod as part of other mods as long as due credits are given, but I wanted to ask just in case.

Yes you can, just make sure it's in the credits.
