Byzantine Empire

Description
Constantine's Byzantine Empire - Rise & Fall & Gathering Storm compatible.

Emporer Constantine leads the Eastern Roman Empire. In addition to the Roman Baths District, he can build the Acropolis, plus the Roman Border Fortification, Ecclesia and Provincial Baths improvemnts. He also has access to a custom 'Romanised' unit build tree with over 50 units in it. A full tree for all eras.

Leader Traits:
Military Reforms: Constantine has access to over 50 unique units, with a uniquely Roman flavour. Total War has never been so much fun, from War-dogs, chariots, Triarii & Sagittarii to Zepplins, torpedo boats & Dreadnoughts.

National Civics:
The Eastern Roman Empire has access to Roman Baths, plus the Greek Acropolis, it can also build provincial baths, ecclasia & Roman border fortifications, all new, unique improvements with custom bonuses.

Mod also adds Pax Romana as a 'religion'.
Moments enabled for R&F & GS.
80 feature names (rivers, deserts etc) added for GS.

Has Yet not Another Maps Pack True Start Locations (YnAMP) - Byzantion/Constantinople/Istanbul.
Has 'Randomised Mediterranean Map' True Start Regions - Bulgaria

'Wonder Tweaks' is a recommendation, not mandatory. But the mod plays better with it.
Byzantine DLC (Frontier Pack) compatibility. Mod adds this mods features to Basil II, plus adds Byzantine DLC features to Constantine if the Byzantine DLC is owned.

If you enjoy Roman mods, see also my 'sandbox' mods that allow you to build almost everything in the game. GLORY OF ROME MOD - for a similar mod, but with more custom improvements & buildings, see my Romulus of Rome MOD - Note, these mods will conflict if enabled at the same time.

I love making mods, & I hope you enjoy playing them. Please feel free to support me, this is what I do for a side-hustle.

personally i hate the opidum cause it deleats the normal bonuses of the industry zone and is so reliant on a great start else its just the worst thing too build id like too see it changed to base or too something else aslong as its more like the base industry zone

I played this civ, and quit every game because it was no challenge. I played against this civ & lost every game because they crushed at everything. So this mod is an amazing amount of work that's very hard to appreciate.

It would indeed be nice if vanilla Byzantium themselves only have access to a few units like early units and legions rather than that whole package, that way people who want a "Lite" experience has a compromise option. Still a great mod nonetheless. I hope 2K releases better modding support soon.

It was made to be, but this was some years ago now & I have not kept up with their changes. Fraxis, in their infinite wisdom decided not to allow custom civs to be able to utilise their maps. But If you use the bonafide leaders you will get true starts for their maps also.

this mod is cool, but it would be nice if it were compatible with true location starts such as the earth maps or the mediterranean maps. but that's just me.

I agree with Utsch_Auflyee 's comment below.. Way too many units. I would wish to keep the early history units and dump the rest.

Thanks for this

I like this mod, but too many special units make me feel a little confused. Could you please make a version that cancels so many special units? Thank you very much.:cozybethesda:

Have just done it now chief. Sorry, moved city & job... took a bit longer to get to this than I anticipated.
