Proton Pulse Cannon

Description
Introducing the Proton Pulse Cannon!
This is a early game weapon Intended to fill in the Point Defence gap between the mass driver and the Phasor.
It may also work as a close in brawler weapon.

It is researched in Robotics (425 RP) , and it's mods are In Optronics (795 RP)
Cost - 8
Size - 9
Cooldown - 7.5
Damage - 18
Armor penetration - 15
Range - 45 <- this has a High rate of range loss similar to the graviton beam ( 50% at 45 range)
DPS - 2.4

Available Mods: * = unlocked through research
Point Defence
continuous*
Auto fire*
Heavy mount*
Enveloping*

I added the .PNG files for the in game graphics. To use them you'll need to copy them to:
Master of Orion\MasterOfOrion_Data\StreamingAssets\assets\ship_modules

A bit of thanks to breckwilhite as I used his railgun mod like a template to work from.

I forgot to add, thank you for creating this mod. I love this weapon. So much so that I modified it on my pc to be tied to the mod "Shield Variants with Racial Perk and Tech Tree" so that it shows up after I research Hyper Shields lvl 1, with all of the modifications. I don't like to wait. :P

Just fyi concerning this mod. I appears to remove the Structural Analyzer from the tech tree when running. I looked and poked around in the mod files, and found that in the mod's file "TechTreeProtonPulse.yaml", the line

- unlocks:
- application: techapp_structural_analyzer

is missing under the "- key: technode_optronics" section of the file. I simply copy/pasted the missing 2 lines from the file "47 TechTreeNOUCP.yaml" from 5X UGM, and now the mod works fine, and Structural Analyzer appears when researched and can be equipped onto the ships.
Hope this helps anyone else running into this problem.

@resieg, the file should be there now... for some reason it was not showing up before...
mine is at: steamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/298050/841482008/proton_pulse_cannon.PNG
the folder steamlibrary is my steam install directory for that drive, i have ganes on 3 different drives so your folder may be called something else but the rest of the path should be the same...

Hi, like your mod.
Sorry, I did not find your png (sorry, new to this). So I put a copy with "paint" into the folder, but the backgrounf is black, not transparent like it should be.

Steam workshop isn't like a packed mod installed through a mod manager, at least of games like this, if your changing something that isn't part of the "official" modding system it's gotta be done manually. That's why i left the instructions above... Glad you got it all working, and i how you like.

Game not seeing Png Proton Pulse Cannon, only thumb and not showing proper png file in tech tree. Easy fix rename thumb to Proton_Pulse_cannon and copy as u said. Lucky had some modding exp mainly space empires 4.:Diplomat:

just a note, you may have to start a new game to have this become availabe to use.
