well, I just did it - got This Is Persia as the Mamluks. State religion was Coptic. It was not easy lol

Alodia is pretty much luck based and may require some restarts if some situations arise and i can offer some general tips but there isnt really any major strategy that grants you the achievement easily.

I tried to get Nubian Restoration in the same playthru that I took the screenshots from, but even with converting cultures you can't do it as the Ottomans. I wish there was a decent guide on doing it as Alodia.

Yeah lately i have, but i am a damn addicted gamer and rarely have any time to sacrifice... because i am playing.

Someone wrote a guide on Steam about getting This is Persia as the Ottomans but Paradox has patched it out so that you can't form Persia anymore with the HRE or Ottomans. I had thought about doing it as a Coptic QQ but those horde nations are so unstable I think the Mamluks would be better. If I could do it as Taberstan that would be an additional achievement, but that might be beyond my skill level.

Also This is Persia is probably better done with Ottomans nowadays. I did it with Timurids back in the day when common sense came out, but i think its a lot harder now. It is probably possible with Mameluks too because by the time i stopped playing i had powerful allies in europe like the polish-lithuanian commonwealth so conquering the east would be a piece of cake specially because the ottomans had no more room to expand (i believe i vassalized imeretia just to cut the turks totally from any possible eastern adventure).

The Ottoman strategy your guide spoke of is probably better because the Ottomans are a lot stronger, but you risk having Qasr Ibrim being conquered by a nation of another religion, and therefore costing you a lot more time. That is why i went with Mameluks - with proper allies, and if you do not let the turks expand in the east like i did by vassalizing the local minors, it is pretty easy.

This is really interesting - it could be a good way to get the This is Persia achievement while playing as a Coptic nation.
