For anyone interested in a slightly different approach to using these stabilising mechanisms for flying machines that DON'T rely on keeping the body of the craft in a rigid horizontal plane, then you may find this interesting:

Here I keep all levitating thrust vertical, and let the craft move freely. The result is a craft that is just as confortable travelling across the ground as it is when airborne....
