Iron Sights and v1.4

The only guns in Far Cry that don't simply zoom in when you aim are the G36C, OICW and the sniper rifle. This mod enables ADS on every other gun. This guide also comes with the v1.4 patch, which is required for the mod.

Before you start, just know that this mod only works with the 32-bit version.

1) Download the installer for the v1.4 patch, and follow its instructions, in order to install the patch.
-If you're not familiar with patch/mod installers, they usually have a default directory for the respective game. If the default directory isn't where your copy's files are located, then browse for them, and install the patch there.

2a) Download the mod from here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/iron-sights

2b) If your copy has a "Mods" folder in the directory, just copy/paste the "IronSights" subfolder, from the mod's folder, into it. If not, just create a folder called "Mods", in the game's directory, and copy/paste "IronSights" there.
-Never put quotation marks in the names of any folders, of course. I usually wouldn't even include this, but you'd be surprised at how many people could make that mistake.

3) The v1.4 patch adds a "Mods" option in the main menu. Go to that, and load the iron sights mod.
-If you don't want to restart the game every time you want to use the mod, go into the game's properties, go to the launch options, then type "-mod:IronSights", without the quotation marks, and click "Ok".

I recommend playing Farcry with FCAM mod from Garcy. It includes iron sights, ai prone and better textures and more. It is a MUST to play Farcry with FCAM.

Thanks for pointing out the bit about the sniper rifle. I just went back and corrected it. I'll have to go back and check leaning with this mod.

Also last time I played with this mod, you couldn't hit anything with it when leaning, and leaning is a huge part of surviving on Realistic.

Thanks for the little guide! I think the zoom-in on weapons makes the game more unique compared to newer FPS's but this is a nice touch regardless!
