CS:GO Trading Guide
By Xerces
Getting good skins on Counter-Strike Global Offensive can be long and straining.

Unless you know how to trade.

In this guide I will explain to you the do’s and the do not’s when it comes to trading. All of my trading experience in CSGO comes from personal experience, over time I have perfected what has worked and scrapped what hasn’t worked.

Remember: Never sell anything on the Steam Market. Whenever you sell something on the Steam community market, you instantly lose 15% of the value of the item which you are selling.

Alright now that we have got that out of the way; lets begin, shall we?

Firstly the site's
This is probably what most people do when trading and this is why they don’t succeed. They use CSGO Lounge. CSGOL is a great platform when trading, because it allows you to see what other traders are wanting to trade as well as you can create your own trade. This actually leads me to my next point;

Everyone on CSGO Lounge is there to trade and make profit. It goes without saying that 99% of people wish to trade for a profit, and so are you. Using CSGOL won’t make you hit the fat stacks, as no one want’s to “lowball”. You will most commonly find that people on CSGOL are only willing to trade if they make a profit.

I only recommend you to use CSGO Lounge as a tool in which you advertise your current assets, so that incase a random buyer which will overpay sees your trade ad, they will be able to add you and trade with you.

these are some sites out there for trading!

Secondly the example
The best way to trade for profit in my opinion, is to use the Steam Market to your advantage. Lets start

Example Item: AK-47 Case Hardened (Field Tested)

Alright, lets say that you have the example item mentioned above and you wish to trade it for CSGO item’s.

Firstly find out the price . The AK47 currently as of 7 October 2014, has a value of: $25.77

Now we want to increase the amount of money that our CSGO weapon skin is worth. Going from $25.77 to ~$27 would be a nice increase of about 5%.

We now want to find an item to trade for. There are 2 methods in my opinion which are fastest

Using CSGO stash, this website allows you to see all the skins on CSGO, and their pricing. Often I will open a bunch of tabs of skins which are in my price range; of popular weapons like: AWP,AK47,Glock,M4’s.
Using CSGO Analyst’s List. Probably the more preferable method. Just click on ‘Listing Price’, which will automatically sort the file from highest price to lowest price. you want to find your item on the list, and then see what CSGO skins are above your skin. You then want to proceed and add enter the steam market page for these
Thirdly the do's to trading for csgo
before sending trade offers you might want to see if there is a decrease or an increase in price of the item you are trading to. Often items that are decreasing are like a hot potato! You don’t want to hold them to long or else they will burn you! (or your wallet!)

Now that that has been cleared and done we can move onto the next step.

You now are probably faced with an internet browser which contains a bunch of tabs of random skins for CSGO. You want to add the first couple of people who are selling the skin you want, to your friends list.

THECSGO’s DO’s:

Add as many people as you can for each of the Steam market pages.
Use an auto refresher, to automatically refresh the Steam market every 45 seconds or so, so that when a new person ads their item to the market you can quickly add them whilst they are still online.
give the user you added a nickname, a useful example would be what they are selling.

Once the person adds you, you must now perswade your trader to trade. Be friendly and confident, below are some tips to CSGO trading.

Tell them that your item is increasing in price.*
Tell them that their item is decreasing in price.*
Tell them your item looks like {next better condition to yours}.*
Tell them your item has a good sticker(s).*
Tell them your item has spiked many times to above their items value.*
Tell them their item has dropped many times to under your value.*
Tell them you are trading because you do not wish to lose 15% due to trading tax.*
Once the trade is complete, post ‘+rep’ on the traders’ Steam page, this will leave a good mark behind on your trader, possibly leading to another trade in the future.

Thanks for the read!
Fourth the tip's
THECSGO’s TIPS for trading on CSGO Lounge.

Install CSGOL Assistant, CSGOL assistant is an addon for Google Chrome which updates CSGO Lounges look as well as add more functionality, such as; Add prices to skins, update look of betting screen, add ‘Best of …’ to each competitive match.
Install CSGOL Auto bumper, again another addon for Google Chrome, which enables your trades to be autobumped. Useful to keep your trades up to date.
If you use multiple screens, getting an auto refresher for Chrome is a good idea, you can leave CSGOL open on one of the monitors, while you do other things on the other monitor.
