LOD Toggler (deprecated)

Description
LOD Toggler is officially deprecated. Use my new mod Ultimate Level Of Detail instead!

Press CTRL + '.' to toggle the LOD distance check. This has several effects:

  • Increases the building LOD render distance
  • Increases the tree LOD render distance
  • Increases the prop render distance (a little bit)
  • Increases the cim and vehicle render distance
  • Increases the network LOD render distance

You will still see a LOD when you zoom out very far.

Useful in combination with Dynamic Resolution, Isometric Camera and Random Tree Rotation.

Extra feature for asset creators: Press CTRL + Alt + '.' to display the LOD model at any distance!

Note: I'm not taking donations, but others do ;)

Reading others remarks, I can see why this has problems in my game.... Is there any plants to bring it up to date?

Seconding @CyberVibes, I use a lot of virtual memory since I can't add more RAM to my laptop and while it's slower than RAM, it still does the job if you don't have any other choice. And the SSD (if new) will last much longer than needed (way beyond obsolescence) even when using virtual/swap memory.

[anyway, this is irrelevant to this mod! carry on lol]

QUOTE "virtual memory doesn't help, and it will destroy your SSD. You will need at least 12 or 16 GB of RAM, or more if you want to use a LOT of assets."

This isn't true unless your using a 5-10 year old SSD, all new SSD's especially NVMe m2 drives have been proven in lab tests to last the life of all other components with more than 50GB of writes per day for 10 years on a 250GB SSD, it reaches higher daily transfers depending on the size of the drive, so a new SSD will be more than capable of handling pagefile in an effiecient manner without burning out early, 16GB of ram is a neccesity when running Skylines with workshop but you'll also need to use pagefile, there are a number of disscussions already on the CS steam discussion page where we have highlighted the pros and cons of pagefiles and SSD's
