Description

Starting mining operations on asteroids and planets is an expensive business. Without detailed geological surveys, investing in mining operations can be extremely costly to a corporation should the celestial body in question turn out to be a worthless rock. The SIM Heavy Prospecting Vehicle is designed to mitigate this risk. Delivered to the surface by dropship, the crew of the SIM HvPV can survey a large moon in a relatively short amount of time. Multiple support craft allow a wide area to be covered each day, and full processing facilities exist to ensure no ore is wasted. Alongside it's 70m bore hole drill, the SIM HvPV also utilises a trenching drill to remove surface materials and flatten surfaces for future landings. SIM HvPVs are also popular with smaller companies looking for an all in one mining solution.

Notes

On asteroids, piloting the HvPV is currently more like an sailing an ocean liner on a rough sea than driving a few thousand tons of mining equipment. This is probably because it uses space balls to keep itself on the ground. I will update the drones and hopefully improve the handling characteristics once planets and natural gravity arrive.

The bore hole drill, the trench drill, the hangar door and the rover deployment system are all timer based. Due to this, you must wait for the sequence to complete before reversing it. I.e The bore hole drill must reach it's maximum depth before it is retracted. Yeah, I wish I could code too.

I try to make all my ships suitable for use in survival, if you use my ships and find a bug/problem, let me know.

Also this thing is well out of date.

@Necrius Projectors can't project multiple grids. It's annoying.

I like the concept, but apparently projector can't replicate the whole thing. No drills and no support vehicles loaded here. Do I do smth wrong?

Yeah, it was the parking brake. I feel dumb now. :P Thanks for the help!

Not sure then, unless it's the handbrake.

I know, but I can only get the wheels to turn side to side. I can't move the vehicle.

Get in the flight seat at the front. That seat has wheel control. I will warn you that currently it handles badly. This is due largely to suspension wheels being a bit dodgy on voxels (asteroids). The small rover in the back seems to drive ok though. It was built for planets really and will be tweaked when they arrive.

How do I make it move?

Thanks!
