they are working on cloning a mammoth in Japan, but they aren't making a lot of progress.

they have found mammoth DNA, but it's hard to isolate it and recover it to it's original state, and it's not very easy to make a mammoth out of an elephant, but it's entirely possible that we will see real, living mammoths one day....
they are currently making a large nature park where they let bisons and horses graze, so it will be ready for mammoths in some time.

jpqu, I agree. The tusks make it look like the kind of mammoths you would find in Skyrim.

Now we can make them extinct all over again because we're mostly selfish beasts. :P

"I'm not fat, it's this fur it makes me look... Poofy" XD these would be AWESOME, i can imagine these guys lifting piles of wood and helping with the construction of bases :D

I wish there was actually mammoths with tusks like that, the museum would be A LOT more terrifying.
