they are working on cloning a mammoth in Japan, but they aren't making a lot of progress.
they have found mammoth DNA, but it's hard to isolate it and recover it to it's original state, and it's not very easy to make a mammoth out of an elephant, but it's entirely possible that we will see real, living mammoths one day....
they are currently making a large nature park where they let bisons and horses graze, so it will be ready for mammoths in some time.
