A character made as a birthday present for k-night520's friend Charlie.

Meet the gardener named charlie. Sorry Maxwell, this is not the Charlie you were looking for.

Charlie loves gardening, so much that doing so keeps him sane. Whenever charlie plants any sapling, berry bush, tuft of grass, or flower he will gain sanity. He loves all the plants and being around flowers just makes him happy and sane. Those evil looking flowers might seem menacing, but they don't bug charlie.

But if there's one thing that bother's charlie, it's seeing his garden catch up in flames. Whenever nature is burning anywhere near him he starts to go insane, the larger the fire the worse it becomes. Even charlie will need his charcoal, but it's gonna be rough watching those poor plants burn.

Charlie isn't alone though, because he has his butterfly friend Tai following him around. Tai loves nature just as much as Charlie, and it makes Tai happy everytime Charlie is working hard on his gardening. When Tai is happy, Tai will help with planting flowers as well. When Tai is happy enough, Tai can even create butter that Charlie can use for food!

But Charlie should be careful, Tai fully trusts Charlie and follows him wherever he goes. If Tai's poor little fragile body get's mauled by the monsters and hazards, all that will be left behind is Tai's wings.

Thankfully, if Charlie retrieves the wings and holds on to them while planting things like flowers, then eventually Tai will be brought back to life and follow charlie again. Better be careful from now on. Anyone can take Tai's wings, but only Charlie can bring Tai back to life.


Charlie also likes reading, and can make his very own version of Wickerbottoms "Applied horticulture" but on top of that book, he also has two unique books of his own. A book that summons butterflies and bees, along with a book that puts out all nearby fire's and makes it rain. Using these magical books is taxing on the mind though, so beware.

Charlie also has his own magnificient beard! Though it's not made of beard hair, but grass instead. (what on earth?)

This will help keep him warm during the winter the same though, except it doesn't get as magnificent as wilsons, so he doesn't get as warm.

Charlie had too many caffiene pills, so he just can't fall asleep.

Charlie starts with his very own bugnet, so he can start catching some butterflies immediately to work on his garden. He also knows how to make a bugnet, shovel, and backpack from the get go. So he's ready to go out there and get to work.



Author's Notes:
I offered to script the mod for k-night520 to make sure the mod was finished by Charlies birthday.
I enjoyed scripting the mod and setting a deadline really helped with my motivation in getting it done.

For all the veteran Don't Starve players out there, Charlie is a bit of an easier character to play, having alot of strengths borrowed from other characters with minimal weakness's to compensate.

I hope to rebalance the character in the future to make the sure that the character is as dynamic and challenging as the other don't starve character cast.

And to those of you who are upset that the character's name doesn't start with a W, understand it's a birthday present for Charlie, k-night520's friend.

Updates coming in the future, as of right now this character is fully compatible with the RoG beta, but if anyone finds any bug's from use feel free to let me know here.

Oh and as a message to k-night520's friend Charlie, Happy birthday and we hope you enjoy the character.
