Introduction
ODAM

We are a friendly casual gaming community always looking to grow, We have a multiple steam groups, "ODAM" being our main public Steam group with 300+ members, ODAM DAYZ, ODAM Strike (cs), ODAM CHIVALRY, ODAM Planetside. Our planetside2 outfit operates on the TR Faction. We have both a community constitution and bill of rights.

Settings
Counter-Strike is a server side game, This means the server has the final say in the conclusion of situations. When you tap the fire button, your cleint snaps a tiny 25X25 pixel (something like that) screen shot of exact position of the crosshairs along with a timestamp and sends that to the server in the form of a packet. the server collects and organizes all of these packets into numerical order and diciphers who killed who. this process takes a few fractions of seccond so to make up for the discrepency the client "predicts" hits and outcomes based on its current information to keep the game smooth. this is why you will sometimes see blood splatter from your shot but in the end you may not have scored a single shot on him, becuase the server sends back to your client you have been shot and killed first so your shots dont count. this is also why you will never see two players kill each other simultanously.

When first launching the game- there are a few settings that require attention.

You will want to enable the devoloper console.. This allows you some nice management features ingame that you would normaly miss out on.. such as Net_graph 1 and Exec *.cfg files that allow you to get incredably detailed with your key bindings. The console also allows you to see the recent history of gunfire exchanged and/or death notices. Another option of note here is Acceptable Matchmaking Ping- This number will influence the match making servers greatly.. when playing with friends over seas it is wise for the both of you to increase this number to allow the matchmaking servers the leway to assign a match server within the perameters entered.

This allows you to put on Clan/Team/Community/group tags (the text you see in front of many players names). First you must belong to a steam group. Once you belong in a steam group you can then access this pull down menu to select the unique tag they have created for there group apon the groups creation.

Lastly, One quick tip.. the option here to look for is "SWITCH WEAPON APON PICKUP"
You will want to set this to "NO", I can't tell you how many times I have seen this get people killed needlessly in the game becuase, if not you will eventualy, inadvertantly run over a weapon that autoswitches you from your pistol while in the middle of a exchange of fire and the weapon safety check animation will not allow you to fire and your opponent will not "wait" for you to finish doing a weapons safety check.

Launch Options
Another Note worthy of a quick mention is command line parameters apon game launch-

In this area You can add launch options- these options are applied as the game is booted, it can set options that are not available in the config files & settings menu. This is the launch options I use, Shown for display. If you are unsure- dont use them or "google search" them, if you know what they mean or are desperatly tring to find those extra few FPS by all means.

"-dxlevel 80 -novid -noborder -high -threads 8 -freq 60 -tickrate 128 -nojoy -nod3d9ex -noaafonts +mat_vignette_enable 0 +mat_trilinear 0 +r_shadowrendertotexture 0 +mat_picmip 2 +mat_hdr_level 0 +r_rootlod 2"
Autobuy
An option in counter-strike you should consider is the autobuy function. The game comes with a pre-existing autobuy but it lacks some of the required elements of money management required by competative play. First thing that comes to mind is its priority on armor purchasing.. Armor is the number 1 element you should always purchase and then worry if you have enough for the weapon you want.

To start with you will need to load your windows explorer (or browser) to the directory that csgo is located... by default it is here..

Find the file autobuy.txt and right click on it and select edit

You will notice a set of instructions in the text file... they are pretty straight forward but missing some important aspects you will have to pay attention to.. CT & T specialized weapons can interfere with each other in game when using the autobuy button...

or here:

Autobuy works like this:
game starts to launch
Launch parameters for the source is read
loads game engine and datafiles.
Sets autobuy list as specified in the autobuy.txt file in the csgo directory
splash screen
reads *.cfg files in the "cfg" directory.
Bind "f3" "autobuy"; bind "f4" rebuy
Home screen

Unfortunatly you cannot use the "exec" command on the autobuy.txt file so when you change it you need to reboot the game. Once you push the autobuy key in the buy zone @ the begining of the round- it will got from the first of the list to the bottom in order- Using the money you have as the deciding factor on each item one the list- if it can afford it, it will buy it. once a primary or seccondary is baught it will ignore any further attemps to buy from the list that target primary or seccondary weapon slots. the grenades you buy here can also be programmed in the list. for instance- I know i can only carry 4 grenades, so I choose HE then Flash then smoke lastly molotov or inc. and save the decoy for last- so it will only buy the decoy if I din't have enough money to buy previously listed gren, but having enough for the decoy. This is my list:

///------- BUY LIST SHOUlD GO HERE -------////

fn57
vesthelm
vest
defuser
smokegrenade
flashbang
hegrenade
molotov
incgrenade
decoy

some weapons share the same slot designation as another- the Mac10.. when on the CT team, The Mac10 option will purchase the MP9 since the weapons (even though are different commands, they are sharing the same weapon slot- be aware of this. as it may waste money and cause problems.

ALSO! "Dont be a looser- Buy a difuser!" Difuser should be at the top if not the #1 entry in this list, defusers and armor should be your primary concern when purchasing your items for a round.. next think about what position you are playing on the map... and it will allow you to best decide what weapons to buy.

Notice: I do not have a primary weapon in the script to allow me the ability to choose one independantly of the autobuy function.

Remember: You CANNOT change the role of the weapon BUT the weaapon can change YOUR role in the round. For Instance- Do not snipe with a shotgun and dont go rushing at an enemy with an AWP (Artic Warfare Police).
Computer Hardware & System Settings
Computer Hardware and Mouse sensitivity is prolly the number one culprit of poor ingame performance.

FPS -
Frames per seccond has a HUGE impact on your ability to take down an opponent in a shot per shot skirmish. This has to be the very best you can push your system to produce. If it means turning all the graphics in game to the lowest setting I suggest doing so- The game in this state will not only love you for it, it still looks great. Some options to consider is to ALSO turn down all the graphic options on the video card itself (through windows). Such as NVIDEA control Panal. I mention this becuase some video card settings will override any settings ingame and continue to cause FPS drag. Another very effective and useful way to increase FPS in CSGO is to decrease the screen resolution. The lower you can confortably get with a usable view angle, the better. It will also enlarge your crosshairs and the target your aiming at; increasing the chance of a successful flick of the mouse.

TSR's & other background running programs
"Terminate Stay Resident" programs is software that perform various activities, such as waiting for a cd to enter the cd drive or a program that will display a directory structure by size instead of windows classic alphabetical order. these programs will take up resources, processor and memory of the system and should be turned off if having less then desirable ingame FPS. A good example is Realtek HD audio manager- This program adds little to nothing to the CS game that it does not already provide by itself. If you have 5.1 surround sound, windows sound driver and csgo is all you need - ALSO you DONOT want your sound bit depth too high as this WILL impact the game more then you think. Turning this down will increase performance on lower end systems and csgo will still sound great. Any virus scanners should be avoided as they tend to do background operations at the worst times. I always reccomend a firewall (Windows Firewall &/or router firewall) and a process manager such as Process Lasso] Process Lasso [bitsum.com] when doing anything online even if it seems harmless.
NEVER TURN OFF WINDOWS DEFENDER FOR ANY REASON!

Live HDD-file surveillance
(mine stopped working as described but if your OS is setup a certain way) -- If you suspect that an community server downloaded something to your computer or Even in general, The Windows File Explorer has an awsome feature- It can tell you in live when a file is saved onto the harddrive. To do this, open your file explore (Win-10) and select the date tab over the right pane of the program, Scroll down the directory tree & Find C: & select it. Now click once in the seach field at the upper right of the window then select date modified button and select today on the pull down menu.
In this order:
Find and select your C driveSelect the Date modified colum to sort the content by the date it was modified.
YOU MUST -Then select the Seach text field box

Then select the date modified button and select "Today" from the pull down menu

MONITORS
Another Way to improve ingame player performance (not system FPS) Is to use triple monitors. CSGO was made for triple monitors and from what I understand was one of the first games to utilize the use of triple monitors. In this day and age, monitors are fairly cheap ($40 range) for a flat panal 1600X900 refurbished[www.newegg.com] Display, which is perfect becuase using three of them gives you 4800X900. Having the extra displays allows you to have peripheral vision in game. This enables you to see your left and right without actualy turning left or right to allow you to overwatch that doorway & window at the same time.

Mice
Mice. The mouse has got to be one of the most iritating aspect of this game from the underdogs point of view. It never moves right, It always jumps over the target your trying to aim at. it always moves 1 seccond behind your physical movements. It skips around and sometimes it dont respond at all. Occasionaly I suspect cheaters and other hacking software that manipulate other clients mouse drivers in such a way to be undetected and not enough of a difference to notice but enough of a difference to effect your game. Proving this on the other hand would be damn neaar impossible. I have and still do have instances of combat where I would push the mouse button to fire.... and nothing. push it again when the crosshair is off the enemy player and POW it fires. This happens too often in CSGO & never in any other game for me to consider this phenomina "Outside CSGO issue". What causes it and how to fix it I dont know. There is another one that when the mouse pointer is centering towards an enemy player it will speed up in movement speed (like mouse acceleration) then once past the target it will then slow down again. and again this only takes place inside CSGO no other game and Again I haave no explination or blame for it.
Mouse movement Recorder
Mouse Movement Recorder

Copyright (C) 2006 anir
Modified 2015 - Mark Cranness

Displays movements of the on-mouse-pad mouse and corresponding on-screen pointer movement.
Can be used to diagnose mouse pointer acceleration problems ('Enhance pointer precision').
Mouse data displayed includes:

- MOUSE MOVEMENT = X and Y mouse input (collected using DirectInput)
- POINTER MOVEMENT = Pointer movement (calculated from changes in pointer location)
- FREQUENCY = Sample rate / mouse bus update rate in Hz (="per second")
- EnPtPr = Is the 'Enhance pointer precision' option turned ON?

Mouse Sensitivity
The popular theseasus of the mouse settings in CSGO is to set RAW INPUT to "ON" Mouse Acceleration to "OFF" Adjust the sensitivity to suite you. (a good rule of thumb is to set it as to allow you to do a full 180 degree turn in a single full motion range of wrist without lifting the mouse.)

Wireless Mice and Keyboards
may Seem really nice and may even have a printed label such as "Professional gaming keyboard/mouse", I highly recommend only using them for everything BUT an FPS (First Person Shooter). Reason being is that the communication between the peripheral device and the computer is noticable, The batteries always die at the most inconvenient times, Something momentarily interupts the signal or gets moved too far from the reciever. In any or all cases, it is just much simpler and cheaper to use wired peripherals. Although alot depends on the type of keyboard- a backlit keyboard offers the freedom to play in the dark, some mechanical keyboards register the keypress pressure.
Difference of Scripts, Cheating & Exploiting
Scripts < Cheating > Exploiting=?

Scripts-
a *.bat or *.cfg file that contain what/if/then statements concerning in game keystroke, server & Client commands. they can be molded to do a number of things. Anywhere from Changing your jump key to be jump+crouch to changing your sensitivity while you have the right mouse button pushed and difference between whether or not you have a grenade in your hand while pressing it: If so then it does not adjust the sensitivity. Some scripts can give you a VAC ban, so be very picky or research which ones are legit about what you do here. I have seen LEM's run with so many scripts going they look like a source code hopping on air, looking at his knife constantly and instantly reloading after letting go of there +attack key. The one that gets me kinda upset though is where they can pull out a grenade and throw it instantly bypassing the wait timer assc. with it. the one that irritates me the most is where they are constantly veiwing there vanilla knives. They think everyone is mezmerized by them admiring their knife that no one sees how obvious there toggles are. Hardy ever do you see anyone with an expensive knife skin behaving this way. sometimes but they are mostly either admiring their knife or being stereotypical. but 98% of the players looking at there knives, bunny hopping, insta switching from there AWP to pistol after each shot, quick reloading and other small shortcuts to give them that advantouge over the average player do not own a single expensive skin in there inventory... Why you ask? Becuase they dont want to loose them to a VAC ban (not everyone mind you- but most). When they start condensating toward the bottom fragger becuase they push the parameters of the game and are so used to it that they dont even think about it & then they think they are good players andits all skill- is when it can really try your patience- Just Keep this in mind when a script kitty starts bad mouthing you. A real csgo player does not script, but all his play stems from practice and hard work.
I say this but I do utilize a couple scripts, well not scripts perse but aliases. One is my knife mouse button, when I push this button it draws my knife- when I let go of the button it draws my last inventory item used. Its a simple and small alias and I dont think it could even be considered a script.

alias +kn "slot3"
alias -kn "slot2"
bind "key" "+kn"

net_graph "1"
net_graphheight 9999
alias "+scorenet" "+showscores; net_graphheight 0"
alias "-scorenet" "-showscores; net_graphheight 9999"
bind TAB "+scorenet"

These strings can be placed inside a text file and named wildcard.cfg and placed inside the "CFG" directory inside the csgo directory. then once ingame- to activate them you need to open your consol and type "exec wildcard.cfg" Aliases dont work in the config.cfg for csgo and must be exec everytime you launch the game.. Although I never could get the autoexec.bat files to ever work correctly doesnt mean they dont, so If you know how to get them to work correctly, then you should already know how to work this section of this guide. maybe let me know in the comments section and I will update this area of the guide.

Cheating:
I created my own joke on this- "Whats the difference between a Pro player and a Hacker? -- The Pro player never got caught" Whats the difference between Pubg and csgo? about 3 hackers. Whats the difference between a cheater and a catfish? one is a bottom scavaging refuse eating, slime ball and the other one is a fish.

Cheating is- Using a 3rd party plugin or standalone program that influences gameplay in any way to gain an unfair advantouge. Some examples are -an 3DFX injector that decides not to display nearby textures so you can see through the immediate walls or - sweeping the cursor accross the game area intending of hovering over another player and at which time it automaticaly fires.
If you see another player cheating outright, report that person through his steam Account Profile to indentify ip information along with other violations including unacceptable names, steam groups, pictures, comments and sharing of account information for the purpose of ringing, hacking, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ betting, phishing or smurfing & use the CSGO ingame report tool- to activate a demo of the player for the remainder or the match If you are unsure then just use the ingame csgo report tool. In either case...keep in mind- Good players dont normaly cheat. also if they are making it known with no effort to hide it- 90% of the time they will quit the game after the map changes and usualy this type haunts the casual servers. Usualy the players that are not good at the game that resort to cheating by any number or reasons and justifications. But You never know-. Cheaters ruine the game for everyone including themselves. I view cheating as an act of vandalism and tresspassing of intelectual prooperty not owned by them & in some cheats an invasion of personal privacy and harrassment beings that players are in the privacy of there own home (usualy) & playing and you are "entering" there homes making your existance known. (lack of a better view offhand). This is also why valve extends assistance in keeping the gameplay clean. When you do run accross a cheater, it is in your best interests to report him without any indication that you have done so, so as he continues to cheat- the server demo will catch him doing it. Some cheats can be toggled and some players are damned good at hiding the fact they are cheating. This is an unfortunate afterbirth of games of this aura. Only the community can make a difference here. to just sit back and allow a cheater to exercise his lack of ambition by behaving in such a way is not an effective way of fighting cheaters. Nor is it an alterior method or reasoning to cheat as well as to level the playing field just to get a fair game? Beeeep! Not acceptable!

Exploiting-
Using game glitches and map bugs to gain an unfair advantouge of play. Throwing smokes through the ceiling to land in a next enclosed room is that by "real" in the sence of the word would otherwise be impossible. Or planting the bomb in such a way that it cannot be defused.
Exploiting will get you banned, and I dont recommend utilizing them. If you find one- please report them in the steam forums in the CSGO area with a ingame screenshot. To do this you must have taken and uploaded the screenshot to your personal steam cloud. (this insures its an original and authentic screenshot) (you do this by pressing the Screenshot key you have indicated in the "settings" area (Shift+tab) of the steam overlay) Then after you close the game it will bring up the screenshot manager window). Linking it inside your post being made in the community/steam forums.will automaticaly display the SS as a picture in place of the hyperlink
They use to allow "Sprays" in game (impulse101) that was a custom picture you could place in the ingame enviroment. My spray was a solid picture of a camoflauge colors that my charector blended with perfectly; I then camped infront of it and sniped long areas with an AWP. This was a VERY effective exploit for a couple rounds but the opposing force quickly learned and would avoid that location or turn off the option that show ingame custom sprays so they are not visible ingame.

The Top Fragger
Your brain creates memories by electrical current firing off to form and IN THE FORM of the actual pictures or memory in your thoughts (yes your brain has better resolution then your computer) in your mind, the more often those electrical impulse fire the same picture- the more it is fortified into ones self or memory
There is a percentage of players that take any opportunity given to shun there own team for the sake of there pride; These players are not always the top fragger, but being the top fragger is usualy the catalyst that starts one going. A good leader will catch this stance before it evolves and should attempt to arrange factors to fix the issue. But bad frag leaders learn or try to take the easy way out and attempts to force the bottom fragger to arrest his own weakness, EVEN if it stems from the team in the first place. A Boss will be lax in a solution becuase having no understanding what the problem is, delays early intercept dulling effectiveness at solving it. A top fragger that is a good leader actualy can make a poor player perform outside his normal self and pull some amazing stuff if motivated correctly & invoked naturaly, how a leader operates will be dependent on his quick thinking, patience, motivation and determination. just remember- just as you look up to a leader motivating you to perform at your best, a leader also needs the same reward in return to continue on as well... managing a team in csgo is more intuition then accute repretitions. but both go hand in hand. Bosses that have a good KD ratio will generaly think they are entitled to voice condensending at the weakest team player by right. And thus reflects at his self image of being a good player.

When an instigator decides to take it on himself to isolate another player:
Forfits there position as part of the team
Reinforceing his stance is each "Kill" further justifies his cuase by crusade
Creating a base-line stereo-type charactor image of a top fragger.
On a personal level this effects-
descision making & order of priorities
causes hesitation
degrades inspiration
re-initializes innertia of process and forces new team direction
Slows precognative projections of Battlefield awarness or "Game Sence"
effects interpreting voice comms correctly
Also entices baiting and no-faith clauses to facilitate blame as to prove statements
creates the illusion of true-cuase (this is why) by manipulating the general consensus by enticing situations even to the point of baiting & thus takes precidence over thinking & moving as a team.
And not only to the bottom fragger, but every single person on the team is effected by this, EVEN the instigator or top fragger.
Some people can handle it better then others. When the burdened team wins it further fortifies the instigators thought process that this prejudece is ok and correct way to impliment in all rounds and future matches.. But if/when the team fails or loses it; is not the instigators fault that split the team and destroyed its cohesiveness- its, you guessed it, the bottom fraggers fault.

Leadership & what it means:
Have you ever heard the term "Hes a born leader"? This is a farce. NO ONE is a born leader. Leadership is a skill tree of a number of other skills, not a trait. Leadership is a prerequeset to MANY Colledge courses- Carriers, jobs, military and even scocial clubs, such as Neighborhood watch or the boy scouts, Sports, politics on all levels and even the Mafia. "Where a team is involved a leader is soon to follow" There is wisdom in that phrase.
To elaborate my point, true leadership from a boss, im going to first prejuducly take a look at both then form an understanding.
A starstruck boss is a person that has no real understanding of what needs to be done so he has others do it for him- Not willing to get his own hands dirty. A Power Tripper Boss Is not willing to do anything that he tells another person to do, revels in the scoicial light of ordering others to his whim, where-ever when-ever. A bad boss does not take responsibility for a failer but places blame to the person or persons he told to do it that failed.
A Leader is a "role" model so to speak. He is someone that understands what needs to be done and takes charge in completing the task. He will take responsibility for failure, He understands what his teams strengths and weaknesses are and will organize the team in accordance to help facilitate the task, meaning he gives a quick loadout and logistical breifing at the begining of the round.. "follow me next round" is not enough to Take the initiative in tactical move- he breifly explains what roles and angles to hold to those that need adjusting or what he would like to do, He may form his breif into a question so the team has concordance or agreeance- he is Breif and to the point- he does not micro manage the team or over burden them with complicating "what ifs" and maybes...... in the form of a single sentance. Once in agreance the leader then leads the way and by nature the team will follow. Everyone will knows what everyone is doing (for the most part) and will attempt to aid for the end goal, etc... This doesnt mean a leader is an ass kiss to his team, but in essence a leader should ALWAYS analyze the weapons his team posses and what angles/position they are playing. Players strengths are now utilized and used as a tool. a leader should ALWAYS congradulate EQUAL amount to Scorning and vice versa. A leader should NEVER tell someone else to do some thing he is not willing to do himself.
In CSGO these images hold alot more understanding and words then I could possiple write in this guide. and it would be way overkill to do so... Motivation, Tactics, innovation, quick thinking, education & Explination in a CSGO Frag Leader is a rare find- If you find one, listen to him/her and learn from their charisma- especialy motivation, I must express here, how much Moral can make or break a team in a match! Just remember, even though your the underdog, doesnt mean you cannot be a leader. I have lead MANY teams in CSGO comp to victory being the bottom fragger and the tact caller at the begining of every round.
The Bottom Fragger
ScratchMB: Top fraging doesn't mean much if his frags don't make an impact on the game
ScratchMB: Frags don't mean that you're the best player either
ScratchMB: You can get a kill on B for example while your team is on A and your kill means nothing cause you're not impacting the round by helping your team get the kills that matters
ScratchMB: The kills that make the round difference is important not the amount of total kills

The Bottom Fragger-
Being the bottom fragger does not mean you suck at the game. I have seen plenty of top fraggers have absolutly no clue what the hell they are doing besides running their mouths and some that dint even communicate at all. Others that bait there own teammates and others that will sit in the back not offering any assistance to their team in the slightest. these will be the same person that will drop the bomb every round for someone else to take and mouth off to that person for any thing they do wrong. The frag leader and the bottom fragger have alot to learn from each other in all matches... there IS ALWAYS gonna be one & the other regardless of any kind of circumstance or situations. The distance between they two is what is in question. If your bottom fragging and the whole team is 3X the kills you have- Lets be honest, There is something you need to work on if not alot of things. If it becuase the stress levels of the game dissallowing you to perform at your peak, you need to practice more in some casual servers. If it is computer hardware issues, you need to address them before you enter into another comp. If it software issues such as key bindings, again you need to address them before joining a comp and test them out on a casual server. If it is becuase you dont give a ♥♥♥♥- or are intoxicated, let your team know at the begining of the match and give them the opportunity to either kick you or accept you as part of the team and allow "team" momentum to take precedence over everyones individual or personal acheivments.
(Communication is key)
. Moral will be a large factor ir resolutions or rounds, if there is alot of inner team fighting, the team will suffer a hit from it, occasionaly the anger built up in such cases will cause enough will and concentration of skills to achieve some team wins, but this is rare and if it does materialize it will be short lived. It is not an effective solution to the issue. So In retro spec- if your bottom fragging it is important you make up for your lack of performance by avenues you are good at, such as target calling (with 95%+ correctness) Or tac calling from a very educated understanding of team movemments, economy and other variable situations that will dictate enemy movement and a high success rate from the tac call. Motivation to your fellow team when it is important & tastefull. If your the bomb carrier- know and understand the best place and time to plant. and again I cant stress enough- Communication, Moral, understanding, and of course inteligent descisions coupled with battlefield awarness. Chances are, if you excel in these areas you should not be bottom fragging to begin with- but it does and will happen.
Being the bottom fragger is a negative influence on the team, but if the team lets it get to itself THEN the team is failing not the bottom fragger. Dont forget- There is ALWAYS gonna be a bottom fragger, period. Also- A team needs to be quick at determining the weak and strong points of each its members, and organize itself in such a way that compliments itself and provides road to advance though the various objectives of the round. (If someone is not good at sniping, he should not be buying an AWP) as a side note- Remember, you can change your roie to match the weapon you are using, but the weapon cannot change its role to match your playing. This is important.

another option
Also- If you are finding your self not adding to the team, another option to consider is to spend your money on grenades and use those grandes to assist the team when & where needed, Understanding the nature of the grenade, (dont be flashing your own team or it could bite you in the ass real quick) is essential. Last but not least- be the guy that takes the bullet to keep another member alive if he is in trouble- dont sit behind a corner & when you hear your team mate open fire and not assist & hope for the best. You hear him open fire, rush to assist him anyway you can but try not to step infront of his shots in an attempt to take a bullet from the enemy- unless he is reloading or flashed.
Self Analysis And Awarness Of Low Points
carlangas: csgo is a hard game if you really want to advance and get better you have to put in the hours all those people that you will find that are gonna trash talk you and tell you that you are not good have there fare share of hours in the game. you might find that you do put in the hours and still lose its normal not everyone advances at the same rate. best thing you could do is have fun calm down and take the shots eventually you'll advance.

Sometimes it helps to put games into a basic yet workable perspective. for instance- CSGO has 2 sides, 1 bomb. then it has a start game and an end game. the start game consisting of 2 sides. the terrorists trying to plant and the CT's trying to defend and the end game- the terrorists defending the bomb and the CT's trying to diffuse. So in simplicity you have 2 scenerios for any givin round. Thinking of manuvers to use in a round is mainly subconsciouse with little effort on the logical aspects of the match, but to bring forth that aspect and to spend some consciouse thought on it can increase your success percentages. For example- Expecting a push from a certain direction from a certian weapon is far more valuable then looking back and forth from two seperate entery positions. Paying attention to when and what is important, what meaning the weapon being used.

Having said this (being all part of a summary described as "combat awarness") you must be able to see yourself through the other teams eyes... Are they predicting you are gonna do the same thing thrice becuase you have shown it to them twice before? Always switch it up- keep them on there toes. To be unpredictable is a major asset especialy if your team is lacking of team play. Now if your team is expecting you to watch a certain angle, great. this means your part of the team and they are expecting you to do this means you have already shown your capable, but this doesnt mean you have to sit at a same and exact spot to watch the angle. so Switch it up. and as a side note- NEVER peek from the same spot twice EXCEPT when they are expecting you to not peek the same spot twice.
Watching your demos (that steam loves to record and have avalaible to the players) you can get to them by loading CSGO- Watch - My Matches - (pick 1 or the last several matches) download. the matches is a great way to analyze your playstyle, and beleive me, there are some things I have done that would make a rock flush in embarresment, but try not to focus too hard on stupid stuff as much as the important stuff...

carlangas:
-lit: that he has no more than 15 health
-Frag; a kill
-saving: they have pistols and maybe body armor but no head armor
-eco round: stay above the 1850 or 2200
-rush: take a site really fast and take fast engagements

Angles-
This being the veiw point from your current position to another position classified as being hostile or soon to be. A position with an overwwatch ability. covering fire and coverage. Angles are VERY important when analyzing playstyles and preemptive movements.

Cordination-
Cordinating movements, this is one of the most difficult things to do. The easiest approach is to take it apon yourself to time your actions in accordance to your team. Example would be fireing at a hostile while your buddy is reloading from firing at the same hostile, Keeping him pinned. Throwing a smoke grenade to cover the retreat of a team member when he is reloading. rushing when your team rushes. Holding when your team holds. It is the execution of actions in accordance to a teammembers action to compliment or to add to his action or the teams current goal.

Map Awarness-
Map awarness is the ability to glance at the map when you hear gunfire and to take mental note of enemy locations, the number of them, the presence of the bomb and direction of travel by everyone. and to call apon that mental note when the situation demands you to have that information.

Peeking-
Peeking is the action of "pushing" your current overwatch to get a visual of an enemy and what he is doing. Peeking is dangerous option to use, but in alot of circumstances it must be done. Zigging back and forth is one method of peeking. To peek and move back then to follow up to take a shot (from the same "peek" position) is a careless form of peeking and usualy ends in death, the underscoring art of peeking is to get the enemies position to show on the radar so another member of your team can then peek from another location to score the kill. Never peek from the same spot twice, but everything in moderation- even moderation.

Crossfire-
Crossfires, the benifit of having more then one player in a given area setup with angles and overwatch to compliment each other with firepower against enemy players pushing into a location. Crossfires is the most effective way to defend a location. using cordination position yourself in an angle to simultnouesly strike a pushing player.

Fake plant/diffuse/reload-
This is the art of tricking an enemy player in listening distance. this tactic is an effective method to cause the opposing play to leave his angle and push your overwatch. it is also an effective way to cause him to lose innitiative by means of the promise of either outright failure of the round or the death of his target. This is an effective way to cause a hiden player to drop his concealment by the same threat. a fake reload is a bit trickier, it is not as sure to work as the bomb threats but still can prove fruitful. the idea is to start your reload animation then quickly switching to and back to the weapon and have crosshair placement on the other players push. Once the other player hears the reload he thinks he will have a quick and easy kill so he leaves his overwatch and pushes straight into your waiting fire.

Playing for time & Playing the bomb-
is a tactic gambling on time versus direct engagement of enemy pushes, for instance only losing concealment to the sound of the diffuse or outright hiding from enemy engagement to run down the clock to cause a win.

Pushing-
To push is to tacticaly advance a location. more often then not it requires dropping concealment, dropping your overwatch, altering your firing arc for movement but keeping your crosshair on point while the move is in motion. this consists of keeping a awarness of your team during the execution. With good cordination your team will be backing you up during this motion. once the enemy is engaged you continue your advance so to get out of the way for your team to tag the enemy player that engages your push. this is the most vulnerable time, you must dodge in such a way to avoid fire AND to giving a friendly firing arc from behind you all the while opening fire onto the enemy player.

Oskar!: i make a com but its its obvious where he is i dont say anything because the less coms the better
Oskar!: also- dont talk a lot when somone else is clutching
Implimentation of skills & Training
Implimentation of skills & Training:
carlangas: for example buy rounds you need to have awarness of what to buy depending on the round, the money and the strat you have for that round you train them by having simple numbers in your head like what's the minimum to buy the main rifle and armor, how much are nades, how much money do i get everytime we lose or win a round, and you train it by keeping an eye on your money every match.

To make yourself better. you must first know your weak spots.. where is it that you need the most help on? CSGO is a game of quickness and finesse. the faster you can get a SCORING shot onto the enemy the better off you are PROVIDED you do it with accuracy. To just go full auto becuase your affraid he may hit you first barely becomes successfull, it does happen but only if the other guy is just as bad.
Learn your weapons recoil. This is a seriously underrated skill. its good to load up a private game with bots and to practice nothing but total automatic fire for every single weapon in the game. this will help you understand the nature of each weapon and how it behaves. To know how to spray fire is a skill and it should not be ignored. It is not as effective as tapping but it most certainly has its benifits and place in csgo.
Learn how to bounce grenades. Understanding what a grenade is going to do once it leaves your hands is a VERY important skill. How the grenade is gonna behave when you are bumbed into, Where to aim and should you jump just before releasing the grenade. all these things must be practiced and cannot be taught on paper. To learn the spirit of the thing itself- is key when throwing grenades. One rule of thumb is to use the grenade in a way that allows you passage while suffering minimal effects from it.

this example attemps to depict bouncing a flash around a corner down a passage behind your direction of your proposed travel in the same passage then rushing around the corner just as your release and turning the corner onto the passage at the same time the flash detonates! Timing the placement of the detenation in a off screen or behind your vision at the same time you engage the enemy is a difficult but very rewarding manuver. Hitting an enemy in the face with an HE grenade just before it detonates is also very rewarding.

Oskar!: if its awping go to dm and purposfully aim kinda far away and flick to people not really fast or anything and then for holding angles just try to do that in game when your awping and focous like its a reaction time test

Training is the repatitions of an action till it becomes habbit or reflexive. to do this you must dedicate yourself to the repitions. The same thing over and over so it is just seccond nature. What should oyu practice? Well what is oyur weakspots in the game? Think about it, look up some youtube videos and forum chats about it. do some research then start practising say 10 minutes before a comp match.
One method for teaching yourself to aim for the head- is to Bind "kill" to a key and everytime you get a kill in casual and it is not a headshot kill- tap that key. it will kill off your charector. repeat this until you teach yourself to aim for the head no matter how stressed the situation is that calls apon that desperate reaction in people to just start spray firing, Tap KILL. until you learn to take your shot even if it means getting killed first, becuase your going to die if you dont headshot him regardless.

ScratchMB: I personally don't watch demos or anything I just play the game and try to think I can be better
ScratchMB: People say to watch demos
ScratchMB: I personally don't I just play the game and think more about what I did wrong in a particular round
ScratchMB: I think back on the game I don't rewatch it, and I think about particular rounds on why I died
ScratchMB: If I push something I think to not do that if it's not working
ScratchMB: So I play back instead

Stratagies to consider & research
Stratagies to consider & Research:
In CSGO as the bottom fragger your selection of stratagies should be the ones that will grant you acceptance & placement into the team even on the losing team. Providing you hold true to them, holding angles, etc. Try and be a hero in an already pecurious position and lose-- may end in a quick vote right off the team & out of the game. Keep it real- Keep the game objective above any personal aspirations, good communication and an honest effort, more times then not you will be fine.

Leadership and Alpha Status
Leadership and Alpha Status are two different things. In this light- the leader communicates what needs to be done and the alpha player ensures it gets done by any and all means available, beit force or threats even towards the leader, this is an unorthadox approach to team play, but it success is determined mostly by the presence of an alpha player who everyone else keeps him alive . There are alot of deviations to team play and it is always good to mix it up. '

1 Shot 1 kill
Teamwork, Battlefield-Awarness, Communication, Crosshair-Managment & Moral are ALL Factors that will make or break a team, People that dwell on frag leaders and team carries are limited in there vision of a true team operation and are doomed to learn this lesson the hard way.Outside of team play for this game is the interpretation to focus solely on getting a single kill per round. if this can be accomplished for each member of your team then you have won the match. this is a viable tactic and works best for the frag kills based type of player. in this format even kill stealing is accepted. The path you choose depends primarly on your teams abilities and intelect. But to be successfull in one you must have a stable and consistent level of the other

Oskar!: i mean theres a lot of strats that exist but if its just a pug i think mostly about small thing to do based to where somone always goes to kill them to get the round started things like that
Oskar!: if somone always peeks the same thing at the begining of the round flash him or do a boost over a smoke or ♥♥♥♥ like that

Never bait your team.
It may seem like the thing to do to get your K:D ratio up so you have more freedom to do what you want inside the match, but in the end you will still lose. Baiting your team is a selfish, short sighted thing to do & people will resent it, even it was not on purpose. Baiting your team is essentialy useing your team mate to draw out an opposing player from his angle to "Peek" or to "push" a position. once your team mate is under fire or has fallen you then step in and take the kill. dont get this confused with kill stealing. Baiting your team is a dishonorable role and you will soon find yourself all alone in the map becuase no one will want to be around you. Team integrity will decay and the match will slowly fall in the oither teams favor. Dont be that guy.

ScratchMB: Baiting just to get the kill is never a good idea baiting for the trade kill is how you should play if you're baiting, if someone is rushing a site someone else should always follow behind to get the trade incase he dies
ScratchMB: So his death isn't for nothing

If by chance your team decides to starts baiting you becuase you are bottom fragging then by all means pick up the role and take its responsibilty and, as part of the team, become the bait- so to speak- you never know.... you may become the teams next "entry fragger". At this point the game can become incredibly tricky & frustrating when even, your doing good for the team but the team still turns on you and resents you for it. this means they are jealous and/or frustrated themselves that they either dint get the satisfaction by a team loss from watching you fall or the fact that you turned the situation around in your favor.

carlangas: i consider strategies that are more simple if im solo Q and a little more complex with a team but never being too random or complicated that are hard to get i search them watching pros stream or youtube videos

ScratchMB: Strategies I sometimes go in an offline server and brain storm ideas, smokes nades setups, I practice certian smokes and show them to the group of people i am playing with
ScratchMB: And tell them the ideas of what to do
ScratchMB: If it's looking bad I will usually tell a ridiculous strat that will work cause it is unexpected
ScratchMB: On csgo playing the surprises is a good way to get free wins
The end score & experience
Counter-strike can have some real loosers in its social structure- and they will find any avenue to take it out on you to boost there sadness and misfortunes in real life. Try not to let it get to you- but by no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ means should you lay down and take it. The ones that yank my chain are the individuals that call their other teammates trash and other degrading remarks becuase they have a higher score but is frustrated becuase your score aint the same and the team is loosing. they immediatly assume its your fault. this type of person I would love to punch in real life. And some of the time it is propably this persons fault in overlooked dashes of reality. Moral has a HUGE impact on gameplay and teamwork. A saying I have toyed with over the years is "I got a challenge for you- For every negative thing that you say, you must say an equal or greater, positive thing" This retort works best if the individual is just being negative on a broad scale and not directly aiming at you. Remember just as a bottom fragger could ultimatly win the match for his/her team. The top fragger can ultimatly lose the match for his or her team, but guess whos fault it will be? lol, You guessed it.

Oskar!: but if i loose i try to see how close the score is
Oskar!: because the closer it is the less points you loose
Oskar!: thats good to keep in mind too because if you know your going to loose try to still get as many points as you can you will loose less elo
Exxoduss: Does the score during a match interpit what methods you utilize during the match for example using more risky moves?
Oskar!: it depends on the risk some are good if you do them well and suprise them tho
Oskar!: the elo system
Oskar!: the points that determine your mm rank

About Myself & Experiences to relate
I have played this game off -n- on since CS Beta 0.6, the good ole days where the avatars kinda hopped around instead of walked, where you could move the hostages as the terrorist and have them stay where you placed them, Vehicles to drive, Video Cameras & you could choose your skin at the begining of each match or when you joined a server. My clans name was "Blood Of Innocent Souls" and was a US branch off of an UK clan with the same name. We obtained & maintained a public CS Server for many years with "The Atlanta Map Pack" (51 custom made maps) and coupled with a few private match servers during that time. We belonged to one ladder called "ClanBase" and one league called "CAL" (Cyber Athletic League) which is now called MLG (Major League Gaming). I made and maintianed a CS statagy guide among other assets.
When Steam was released, it shook the CS community becuase alot of people did not like steam or the idea of having yet another program running in the background to play a single game; eating up resources. players left and new ones joined.
Then 9/11 happened and it shattered the CS community- ALOT of people left and new people again joined.
During that time our clan merged with several other clans to form what we called a clan alliance and named it "Warriors Of Armaggedon" or WOA -but maintained each clans individual identity & that was the pinnacle of my CS empire with 4 webpages, 3 forums, 1 IRC channel, 1 Public server, 1 teamspeak, 3 match servers and somewhere around 60 - 100 active members in total.
Leading a bunch of clan-matches and losing a great deal of them due to poor leadership, inexperience, playing on Dial-Up, lack of attention to intuition, close minded to other avenues of approach and of course the innevitable cheaters. I did not succeed in leading the teams upwards to the victories they deserved, but no matter the humilation I continued.
Even at this day I am not a great player, in fact now that I am older- my reflexes & reaction time lax- I still lose more then half my matches...But I love my Beer and alot of the time (even when I frag lead the whole match) in the end, I end up the bottom fragger... I have gotten some wild insults and critizism to appease personal egos for no actual gain or purpose but to feel good about themselves. Even though I usualy am the one to score the last kill that concludes the match.
Sometimes I wonder if they place it on their Job resumes- considering the intelect of some of these individuals.
