It's possible though that I missed something, or that the manual was updated or is incomplete.
Defense Value = DEF + defense roll = -1 + 1 = 0 < 1, then = 1
Damage = Attack Value - Defense Value = 3 - 1 = 2
min damage = 1 and min def value = 1
Defense Value = DEF + defense roll = -1 + 1 = 0
Damage = Attack Value - Defense Value = 3 - 0 = 3
(minimum damage is 1, but that's not relevant here)
So the chances for surviving a single combat round should be the same for evading and defending, unless I made a mistake somewhere.
I agree that it's good that your guide simply focuses on survival, and links to the other guide with some in-depth analysis. ;)
Guide is now old, and some values are not real.
But i want argue about "Aru & Suguri: 3 HP, opponent attack value 3"
I know, that if Suguri have 3 hp it is better to roll evd, cause chanses are same, but in this case you cann roll 1 and die by evd and not die by def. This was my point.
Player must chose by his own what is better to do in this situation: low risk of death or no risk of death but less HP, in case of suguri or aru when you 3 or less hp, there is no difference how much hp you have, case you simple roll evd. But for 100% surviving def is better. Sorry for bad english.
(sorry if I'm stating the obvious here)
I went through all characters in the guide, and looked for similar cases. In the following cases, it's better to evade than to defend:
Aru & Suguri: 3 HP, opponent attack value 3
Hime, Alte, Chicken: 2 HP, opponent attack value 2
If you want to improve the guide, I'd recommend to change them. You could also rename Kae to Kae (defending), and add Kae (attacking) with 1 ATT, -1 DEF, 1 EVD (simply copy the updated table from Hime here).
It's understandable though if you don't want to maintain a guide that was created 3 years ago. Anyway, thanks for responding! :)
