With vanilla Skyrim, I honestly don't even pay attention to racial skill bonuses when starting a new game. Within a few levels the starting bonuses are largely meaningless, and after mastering a skill and possibly making it legendary the racial talents are completely lost.

This mod replaces the racial skill starting bonuses with a fortify skill value effect, and applies an XP bonus equal to the fortification amount. It gives a little more meaning to racial skills since each race will improve their favored skills faster than other races, and even at skill level 100 each race will be a little bit better with their favored skills.

Fortify skill values:

Altmer:
+10 Illusion
+5 Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Enchanting, Restoration

Argonian:
+10 Lockpicking
+5 Alteration, Light Armor, Pickpocket, Restoration, Sneak

Bosmer:
+10 Archery
+5 Alchemy, Light Armor, Lockpicking, Pickpocket, Sneak

Breton:
+10 Conjuration
+5 Alchemy, Alteration, Illusion, Restoration, Speech

Dunmer:
+10 Destruction
+5 Alchemy, Alteration, Illusion, Light Armor, Sneak

Imperial:
+10 Restoration
+5 Block, Destruction, Enchanting, Heavy Armor, One-handed

Khajiit:
+10 Sneak
+5 Alchemy, Archery, Lockpicking, Pickpocket, One-handed

Nord:
+10 Two-handed
+5 Block, Light Armor, One-handed, Smithing, Speech

Orc:
+10 Heavy Armor
+5 Block, Enchanting, One-handed, Smithing, Two-handed

Redguard:
+10 One-handed
+5 Alteration, Archery, Block, Destruction, Smithing

Compatibility
=============
This mod should be compatible with pretty much anything that doesn't alter racial skills. It'll probably be compatible with them, too, but last loaded wins!

Uninstallation
===========
To uninstall, open the console and type player.removespell <ability's ID>
The ID's are as follows (replace XX with the mod's load order in hexadecimal):

Altmer: XX001843
Argonian: XX00184f
Bosmer: XX001850
Breton: XX001852
Dunmer: XX001854
Imperial: XX001856
Khajiit: XX001858
Nord: XX00185a
Orc: XX00185c
Redguard: XX00185e

After removing the appropriate ability, the mod may be removed from your load order and unsubscribed or deleted. If you don't remove the ability BEFORE unloading the mod the ability may become permanently attached to the character. The skill buff can be removed with an appropriate player.modav command, but I haven't been able to determine if the XP bonus is still in place or not.
