The journal has a "strategy guide", and the solution is on page 12. I did figure out how it was supposed to work without that, though, and in fact haven't needed the guide at all, though I used the map from time to find out where I needed to be to progress. Stuck on the jumping solitaire puzzle down in the pit atm.

Indeed, though you have already seen my views on it. Some of the puzzles made no sense to me, but otherwise, few problems with the gameplay. Plenty with the story related stuff.

That firth animal had me confused as well, turns out it was good. :P

Friend solved it, and decrypted the symbols for me. I saw 5 animals, what he figured out is cheese looked like a weird footprint to me, the locked thing on the bottom was just not anything until he told me what it is meant to depict (while objecting that it should be trout), and the arch was anyone's guess too.

Thanks for the hint, but it wouldn't have gotten me anywhere with those symbols. :)

Think about it this way. 4 animals. 4 colors of animals, 4 tracks animals make, 4 things the animals eat, and 4 places where animals live.
