Piston Doors Testworld

Description
The Piston Doors are inspired by the piston tutorial created by Boris Praversham

In this world file there exists a double sliding and a quattro sliding piston door for you to inspect and for inspiration.

For more information visit Boris workshop and watch his tutorials :)

###################################################

Version 2:

-changed the double sliding door, to be taller
-changed the velocity boundries ( -0.5 < v < 0.5 )
-added more stabilizers
-added some lights
-separated the lights from the inventory of the cockpit (clarity)
-added better colour system:
red = crankshaft (first arm), rotating part controlled with the rotor
yellow = connecting rod (second arm)
green = piston (linear moving part), aka the door
blue = structure to mount on the landing pads, used as rail for the door
pink = stabilizers for the linear segment (door), to reduce the wobbling

@TripleCreeper you have to enter one of the cockpits, then click on the rotor and change the values for velocity ;)
But keep in mind, that you cannot open them to fast ( -0.5 < v < 0.5 ) because of the danger of damaging some blocks

How can i open the door? :(

ok great.. it will be up later tonight.. think i got it stabelized pretty well. goes semi smooth on +-1 :)

Yes, I appreciate that. As i wrote on Boris workshop, you are permitted to use all you need :)

Hello Bal i utilized your idea of moving two pistons in one of my setups. im about to make a new video and will ofcourse credit and link. both in vid and dscr.. hope its ok :)

well everything in due time.. im thinking this setup in the buttom of a ship hangar or so. would make a nice front on the ship :)

Thank you. The Doors are hardly perfect (e.g. a second landing gear line could improve the stability) but I think that you and Boris have some great solutions too ;)
I had problems with some values of the velocity as well, e.g. 0.39 works fine, but other values make the doors oscillate. It's not much of a problem, but a wobbling door is not as attractive than an door that works steadily.

wow. im impressed. so simple yet quite effective. the little change you have made to the standart piston... hmm. well to be honest. im imbaressed i havent already thought of it.. ;) very smart thinking +++
