Khaordum Alliance, Alterran Fleet

In 1 collection by Conrad Larson
The Fleets of Khaordum
3 items
Description
In a time of galactic war the peoples of Khaordum, seeking to defend their homeworld, banded together to form a planetary alliance. The Alliance, following ancient traditions, set about building six fleets, one in honour of each of their Gods.

You are being given the chance to see the impressive war machines of the Alterran Fleet like never before.

Current spacecraft in the sector:
- RB-02 Beetle Light Gatling Fighter
- RB-47A Ferry Light Shuttle
- LE-14 Starbird Light Assault Shuttle
- Mule-Class Light Freighter - A01 Lugnut, A02 Rubber Duck
- Ground-Class Corvette - F01 Solum, F02 Tellus
- Bronze-Class Destroyer - D01 Fulvus, D02 Pyropus

The Alterran fleet pays honour to the Earth Goddess 'Alterra' and can be distinguished by their green, black, and grey colour scheme.

RB-02 Beetle:
The RedmondBishop Beetle Light Gatling Fighter is lightly armoured, highly maneuverable, and carries two Mk.XVI Gatling guns. Beetle Fighters are often deployed by Alterran Light Carriers.

RB-47A Ferry:
The RedmondBishop Ferry is a shuttle variant of the new multipurpose light spacecraft. Commissioned as a potential replacement for the older, larger LE-14 Starbird as a means of transporting crew and other persons between ships, stations, or to the surface of planets and other bodies. Whilst not armed like the Starbird, the Ferry is agile, and suitable for most purposes.

LE-14 Starbird:
The Larson Engineering Starbird is an old shuttle first commissioned near the start of the war. It is a tried and tested design, having seen action all across the galaxy. Designed to put boots on the ground in hostile situations the Starbird is armed with two Mk.XVI Gatling guns and is highly agile despite its size. Capable of carrying four personnel the Starbird is the standard issue shuttle across all six fleets, though like with the RB-47A there are often alternatives.

Mule-Class Freighter:
Mule-Class Freighters are light freighters able to carry a wide variety of cargo due to the interchangeability of the cargo mountings on the ship. Often called 'flatbeds' because of this, they are capable of carrying small loads across space, and are often used to ferry supplies between neighbouring planets and stations.

Mule-Class Freighters are used by the Alterran Fleet Auxillary, a civilian-operated fleet that serves to supply the military fleet. Due to the civilian nature of the fleet the names of Mule-Class Freighters are left up to the individual ship pilots to decide.

Note: Specifications are for a 'flatbed' ship, with no cargo mountings or cargo.

Ground-Class Corvettes:
AFS Solum and AFS Tellus are Ground-Class Corvettes. Ground class corvettes are some of the smallest ships in the Alterran Fleet, and as such are crewed by only a few. They are fast, maneuverable ships with a high number of Mk.XXII Automated Gatling turrets and a number of Mk.XL Automated Missile turrets.

Length: 60m

Draught: 20m
Displacement: 1,400 tonnes

Bronze-Class Destroyer:
D01 Fulvus and D02 Pyropus are Bronze-Class Destroyers. They pack a heavy punch, are very resilient, and still surprisingly agile.

Length: 120m
Beam: 45m
Draught: 35m
Displacement: 4,600 tonnes
Complement: 20 personnel

- Engine Bays, Reactor Room
- Lower Observation Deck

ASF Familiar Ground:
Construction has recently begun on the brand-new orbital station AFS Familiar Ground. Construction is in the early stages, but so far the reactor core and observation deck are nearing completion, and engineers are working around the clock to put in the engineering sub-deck that runs beneath the floor. More news to come on this massive station.

Keep an eye on your comms, many Alterran Fleet ships pass through this sector as they guard the space closest to Khaordum.

@Baron That's because it is. It's the original (Actually Mk.II at this point) Hull that would evolve into the Challenger.

The world? You mean my skybox? I downloaded a .dds file and replaced the backgroundcube.dds file with it. However there is a tool called SESkyboxTool you can use instead.

@tmcg721 Thanks. I'm working on adding more ships constantly, currently working on the starbase and a larger cargo freighter too.
