What this build does
This build focus mainly on enchancing Deathtrap's combat ability. Usually able to kill any thing with just one swipe. (Exclude bosses)
I mainly invest my skill points into Best Friends Forever and Little Big Trouble, and spend remaining the 14 points in Ordered Chaos skill tree.

Note: Tested and works well even in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

Warning! - Doesn't work well against bosses like Seraph Guardians, Airborne enemies, certain bosses and Contructors as either Deathtrap tends to use his range attacks on them. Same for Crystalisk as Deathtrap is always hitting the wrong spot, doing no damage.
This build varies in Overpower mode.
The build
This build focus heavily on Deathtrap's combat ability.

Inportant skills
Potent as a Pony - Provide you and Deathtrap with more health.

Upshot Robot - Even you or Deathtrap kills an enemy, +5 seconds to Deathtrap summon duration. and grants both of you +4% melee damage bonus per stacks. Stacks last until Deathtrap goes away.

Made of Sterner Stuff - Gives you and Deathtrap bonus damage reduction against all damage types. Deathtrap also gains bonus melee damage.

20% Cooler - Increases the cooldown rate of your action skill.

Sharing is Caring - Gives Deathtrap a copy of your current shield.

Strength of Five Gorillas - Increases Melee Damage for you and Deathtrap.

Make it Sparkle - Shooting Deathtrap with an elemental weapon charges him with that element, causing his melee attacks to deal additional damage of that element.

Robot Rampage - Deathtrap Ability. Deathtrap lashes out with a flurry of attacks.
Key items
Item 1: Legendary Roboteer Class Mod
  • Random drop from chubby/tubby enemies.
You will want to have this class mod equipped because of the bonus skills which will further enchance Deathtrap's combat ability. Also giving you a total of extra 57% cooldown rate, making Deathtrap more spammable.

Item 2: Hide of Terramorphous
...His hide turned the mightiest tame...It is a combination of the Maylay, Nova (fire), and Spike (fire) shield types. It also gives an extremely high roid damage boost.
  • Obtained as a rare drop from Terramorphous the Invincible in Terramorphous Peak.
  • If you don't have one, a Purple rarity Maylay shield, Pun-chee can be used. Avoid using Love Thumper! Every hit done by Deathtrap will damage everyone including you and your allies.
Very powerful shield, works really well with Sharing is Care, Make it Sparkle and Robot Rampage.

Item 3: Bone of the Ancients
  • Obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Legendary Loot Midgets.
  • Increases Shock damage and reduced the cooldown of your Deathtrap will further make Gaige a even deadlier threat.
A standard Proficiency Relic can be use to replace Bone of the Ancients if you haven't get one yet.

Weapons - You will want 3 different types of weapon with different elements for Deathtrap's Make it Sparkle ability. Fire, Corrosive and Shock.

Weapon 1: HellFire
We don't need no fire... High fire elemental damage, high elemental effect chance, small explosion damage radius which deals reduced damage and multiple proc stacking.
  • Drop from Scorch located in Frostburn Canyon.
  • Good against Flesh type enemies
Of course, any fire weapon will do, as long as you can use it to give Deathtrap and fire base melee attack and able to kill enemies with the gun.

Weapon 2: Infection
Itchy. Tasty.Extremely high elemental effect damage/chance, but extremely low projectile damage. Projectiles travel in a slight arc and at a low velocity. Projectiles explode after travelling a certain distance. Always corrosive.
  • Obtained from trading with the Seraph Vendor in Hunter's Grotto.
  • Super effective against armor types.
Once again, any corrosive weapon will do, as long as you can use it to make use of Make it Sparkle and able to defend yourself with it.

Weapon 3: Kitten (Shock)
We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.Fires three bullets per shot at the cost of one ammo. The shot spread takes the shape of a smiley face, with two eyes and a wide grin. The spread starts out tight, lengthens, and then closes in again.
  • Obtained from Mad Moxxi by finishing the Everybody Wants to be Wanted mission in Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.
  • Restores 2.5% of damage inflicted.
  • Works like a high-speed shotgun.
This is the only element that Deathtrap won't use much, but Shock is your primary element.
Also, it might be possible that Wires Don't Talk increase Deathtrap's shock elemental attacks.

Weapon 4: Slagga
blagagaAlways Slag element. Fires 3 slag projectiles with reduced damage per shot at a cost of one SMG ammo. High chance to slag.
  • Obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Tector & Jimbo Hodunk located in The Dust.
  • Slag is your best friend. Slagged target takes x2 (x3 in UVHM) from non-slag element damage. A precise shot from any of your gun to an enemy's weak point will result in tremendous amount of damage.
  • If you don't have one, a Purple rarity Maliwan Slag SMG can be used to slag your enemies.
Althought Slag element is not much of a use for Deathtrap's Make it Sparkle ability, it is still important to Slag an enemy for you and your teammates or even Deathtrap to apply more damage.
Some screenshots of the result

120121K + 7124K from Robot Rampage.

109201K damage from Robot Rampage. King Mong instant killed.

109201K damage from Robot Rampage.

32761K damage from normal attack.

Overpower level 8 mode
Short video on the build

What actually happened was Deathtrap did his spinning attack thingie (With Roid + Nova damage) which brought King Mong's health down to about 20% before my Nova comes in which finished him off. Well something like that, but it just happened :\

*NEW* How to make proper comments
Since it's apparently so hard for many people to understand what this guide is about and people desperately try to prove me wrong or say something I supposedly haven't already, read this.

READ THE COMMENTS FIRST TO SEE IF THERE'S NOT ANOTHER IDIOT WHO SAID THE SAME THING

DO NOT INSULT ME WHEN YOU ARE THE ONE TRYING TO PROVE ME WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG

You guys know who you are, stop wasting my time writing replies I wouldn't have to write if people with an IQ above 50 would comment. Backup your facts with the wiki if you're trying to prove me or anything said in this guide wrong. Of all the comments suggesting me to edit something in the guide, only around 3 have succeeded. Go figure.
NO! You MUST use the Antagonist! It turns Deathtrap into a bullet deflecting and slagging GOD!
Many players kept asking this same question over and over and over again expecting me to change the choice of Shield. That. Is. Crazy.

So I have decided to do a test on both shield in Pyro Pete's Bar Brawl. Since it have almost infinite spawn without activating the quest. Did a 3 round testing with both shield and test how many can Deathtrap kill before he dies.

Note: I enchanted Deathtrap with Fire damage on both shields and I did NOTHING, just stand there and watch him killing.

The Hide of Terramorphous scored.
1st round: 13 kills
2nd round: 11 kills
3rd round: 11 kills

Average kills: 11.666666 kills

The Antagonist scored.
1st round: 7 kills
2nd round: 5 kills
3rd round: 0 kill (Not enough damage!) & gang r@ped. D:

Average kills: 4 kills

Part 2 I tested Deathtrap's killing ability with the Bar Brawl Blitz quest activated.

With Hide of Terramorphous, Deathtrap was able to solo and clear the quest under 2:45 mins with 27 kills and he's still alive with at least 50% HP remaining.

With Antagonist, Deathtrap wasn't able to clear the quest and died after 1min with only 6 kills.

I will say this is a pretty fair test because at least half of the enemies in there are range types.

This test was also done on Overpower 8 with both shields are Overpwoer 8.

Here's a screenshot of the damage done by Deathtrap without any slag applied on the target.

Q. No screenshot of Antagonist?
A. I didn't even bother taking one, the damage was so low that my game just crash. (Joking)

I realize this is years old, but I'm replaying BL2 and started using it. Noticed one problem - you mention using a "puple rarity maylay shield, Pun-Chee" as an alternative to the Hide of Terramorphous, however the Pun-Chee is obtained from the seraph vendor and is not a purple rarity shield. I take this to mean just to find a purple one OR purchase the Pun-Chee but the wording is a bit confusing if that is in fact the intended meaning. Great build though!
