Candy 5.0

Basically, I really liked how my "Candy 4.0" and "Chrome 'n' Carbon" skins turned out, and they seem to have become my most popular workshop items for Canyon. So I decided to experiment and see what would happen if I combined the two. After SEVERAL iterations, even more that I had for "Chrome 'n' Carbon", this happened.

The thing that makes this car special to me is that this is my first attempt at making a TrackMania car skin with almost no usage of the in-game painter. The only things I used the in-game painter for were creating a template file to separate the bumpers and bits from the rest of the car, adding the chrome caps to the wheels, and adding the PreLight. Everything else was made using Photoshop and paint.net.

Since I went for a more retro aesthetic for 4.0, I decided to go in the opposite direction and make a more modern/futuristic skin. This is easily the most unique stripe design of all the cars in my "Candy" series. In addition to editing the WheelsDiffuse file to create the blue-walled tires, I also edited the DetailsDiffuse file. The grey panel on the back of the CanyonCar is now made of carbon fiber. I also attempted making ACTUAL candy paint, and this is the best result I've gotten so far. Engine sounds are by bryan623.

I don't think I'm quite finished working on this skin, but I think it's close enough to being done that any changes I make from here won't be too jarring. And, of course, please let me know what ideas you have for improving this skin, especially in regards to the candy paint. Enjoy!
