Description
Inspired by discussions on whether Gunslinger Sharpshooters were viable in XCOM 2, here's a mod that aims (pun intended) to make pistols and Templar sidearms more compelling/viable weapons.

Now rebuilt with MCM and OnPostTemplatesCreated. Mod now replaces a weapon's damage settings with its own, based on weapon and tech category matching. Any changes to these settings will affect all pistols/sidearms except the Darkclaw Chosen pistol - it has its own settings.

Featuring two possible rebalances:
-Jose's rebalance (new default values):
-Conventional tier pistols/sidearms: 3 damage, 2 crit
-Magnetic tier pistols/sidearms: 5 damage, 2 crit
-Plasma tier pistols/sidearms: 7 damage, 3 crit
-Chosen Darkclaw: 7-8 damage, 3 crit

-Original rebalance (commented out in mod's XComRebalanceSettings file):
-Conventional tier pistols/sidearms: 2-4 damage, 1 crit
-Magnetic tier pistols/sidearms: 4-6 damage, 1 crit
-Plasma tier pistols/sidearms: 6-8 damage, 2 crit
-Chosen Darkclaw: 6-9 damage, 3 crit

To switch between rebalance options, place semi-colons in front of the Jose's rebalance values and delete the ones in front of the original rebalance values, and vice versa.

Special thanks to Jose in the comments for pointing out an option that might satisfy everyone.

Primary Pistols/Primary Secondaries Support:
People asked for it, now enabled via MCM option:
-Conventional tier pistols/sidearms: 3-4 damage, 2 crit
-Laser tier pistols/sidearms: 4-5 damage, 2 crit
-Magnetic tier pistols/sidearms: 5-6 damage, 3 crit
-Coil tier pistols/sidearms: 6-7 damage, 3 crit
-Plasma tier pistols/sidearms: 7-8 damage, 4 crit
-Conventional tier Darkclaw: 4-5 damage, 2 crit
-Magnetic tier Darkclaw: 6-7 damage, 3 crit
-Plasma tier Darkclaw: 8-9 damage, 4 crit

@horsepowerYT: The only practical way for this mod to do what you want would require me to DL every single mod with pistols, copy the relevant bits of .ini files, and repack the mod.

With Alternative Mod Launcher, you can just edit the pistols' .ini files to reflect these values.

This mod does work, only problem is it does not work beyond base game pistol. Meaning modded pistols do NOT work. It's very huge disapointment. I looked at every pistol I had for mods, not a single one even had a solid base damage. There are no other mods that work as a "good" replacement.

Aren't pistols now even better than swords? More dmg, ranged, doesn't end turn.

i downloaded lots of mods and when i tried launching it kept saying the same crash msg and then i tried removing the mods i thought wer the cause,when i finally have the remaining mods i used bfore the lots of mods downloaded it stil giving the same bullcrap only by deselecting all the wotc mods was i able 2 launch the game,i xit selected my usual mods and it gave me the same shit so i finally decided 2 uninstal and then installing it again if this doesnt work goodbye wotc 4 the rest of my life!

Thank you for this, I have always thought that having a higher tier pistol basically tickle the enemy was a bit silly. Yes it isn't a primary weapon but they should still know they got hit.
