- Review below ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Artifex Mundi sp. z o.o. is one of the best Puzzle/Hidden Objects developer I've found so far ! (For puzzles and hidden objects games.)

Nightmares from the Deep 2: The Siren`s Call is the sequel of Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart. This is the continuation of new curses Davy Jones made, so a strange man come to meet the Caribbean Museum Director which was previously involved in the curse between Davy Jones and a famous pirate who had kidnapped her daughter.

The story is very good and graphics are awesome. The puzzles and hidden objects scenes are fairly shared.

The game features an inventory where you can store items to combine with the environment to go deeper in the story.

The game has several difficulties and have a guest feature: all the family can play the game and resume it where they left. There is also a map which is useful to fast travel through the different places and that can have some hints if you play in an easier mode. Also you can use the Hint/Skip hourglass whenever you want and wait until its refill to use it again. But be warned that you may not skip or use a hint in any puzzle or hidden objects scene if you wish to have some achievements.

There is a wide choice of puzzles and there are two kind of Hidden objects scenes. The first Hidden objects scene features the name of the objects to find some are found easily (normal one) and some others need you to interact with the environment or to combine two items to found them. The second Hidden objects scene let you find the shape of the objects in the scene and sometimes ask you to use them in order to obtain the others.

(*) :
The game has some achievements that can be missed which are some challenging achievements. There is a guide on steam that will help you to not miss any of these achievements. The challenging achievements require you to finish a puzzle or a hidden objects scene or a mahjong game under a minute. And some achievements require you to find 4 objects in 4 seconds or find all objects with only 3 misclicks or less in the hidden object scenes. There are also collectibles to find through the different sceneries but the good thing is you can always backtrack them as long as you don't open the final chest.

(#):
As I said in the key features, you need two playthroughs to finish the game. One to finish the game with all the puzzles and hidden objects scenes perfected and another one playing the mahjong game instead of the hidden objects scenes. The good thing is you can skip all the cut scenes and puzzles in your second playthrough if you succeeded your first one.

Yes, I should have wrote something about it. Fighting can be frustrating for some people, it was fine for me.

I actually played Risen 1 and Gothic 2 and 3 which are all similar games to one another. I really enjoy the worlds Piranha Bytes creates, but the fact that combat gameplay was so relentlessly frustrating in each and every game they ever made honestly put me off of even trying the subsequent pirate Risen games. Risen 3 really does look beautiful but I've seen people going mad about the gameplay and at this point I quite honestly trust them fully.
I'm not an Assassin's Creed fan but Black Flag was damn awesome when it comes to sailing ships and plundering! Sadly, the on foot combat was a put off.
Thanks for the suggestions! Your reviews look neat btw, keep up the good work!

Now you know what to expect lad. Well there ia a good adventure RPG in a pirate universe named RISEN 2. I made a review too, you need to know that even the game is good there is some issue with achievements and perhaps another thing ? I also remenber a good one with pirate which was more action/ighting/adventure.

Thank you for the answer. Seems like most of these hidden object games are aimed at female audiences and I never really played any. But being a huge pirate geek I came across this one by chance. Was hoping to do some plunderrrring

Unfortunately for you : yes, you play as a female character. The same mother who has a daughter.

Almost got this game but please tell me. Do you REALLY play as a mom in this pirate game? I don't want to be a mom!
