That's nice but the tinfoilers won't understand it. If they understand it, they will discount you as a Valve shill.

Nice try. But the reason I call people tinfoilers is because it is faulty reasoning to seize upon a conspiracy whenever you observe something that defies intuition, or have unease with someone's explanation.

I'm not defending Valve. I'm defending logic. There is a logical explanation for how the competition has gone while the idea that Valve is rigging the competition is solely based upon a lack of insight into how to analyze numbers or group behavior with a healthy dose of the conspiratorial ethos that has infected public dialogue in many areas other than trivial badge competitions.

The people crying "conspiracy!" have to construct a compelling argument for the conspiracy. When they fail to do so they are rightly castigated for their failure to think critically or support their idiotic outbursts.

While an inability to defend shouts of "conspiracy!" isn't very important for this competition, it is kinda important when you have people spouting 9/11 conspiracies, or Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracies, and so on. It doesn't mean that you blindly accept everything that a powerful person or organization says. It does mean that when you want to cry "conspiracy!" you have more than a hot bag of wind for an argument.

Ohh now you did it, you crossed the borderline and compared this event to 9/11. That's up to you. But regardless of how many "evidence" for a "conspiration" there may be, just neglect it and humilate others calling them "tinfoilers" (quotation mark is intended)

I did not compare this event to 9/11. I compared baseless accusations of conspiracy to other examples of baseless accusations of conspiracy, and I specifically stated that this event is trivial in comparison to my two examples. But you seem to have a problem with facts, as you have demonstrated previously.

I would say you should focus more on supporting statements for the position that Valve rigged the competition rather than focusing on which term I chose to use for people whom share your views but you're going to have a much better time criticizing my characterization than finding evidence of the conspiracy.

I would like to know how people scored for their own team. I bought about 12 games and gave only 5 scores to my team. Sombedoy on the friend list contributed 188 points for his team.

Was there another possibility to score for the own team except than with buying games from steam summer sale?

Which action gives how many points? Could somebody list that or gimme a link please?

Scoring is in the FAQ. Regular game badge = 1. Foil game badge = 10. Summer Adventure badge = 10. Summer Adventure foil = 100. Additionally if you craft a steal point item and use it you are credited with that value.

I think he means the Tokens one had a chance to get when one made a summer badge.
