Group Events Suggestions
Hello all!

I would like to hear your ideas of which games we could be playing on our group event nights.

As we are a Steam group, I would prefer having Events with Steam for Linux games.
We are not limited to shooters nor multiplayer games; any games will do, as long as we can do it together (Multiple single-player playthroughs of Amnesia, with people on Mumble?).

Of course you can suggest games that have been played in a previous event also!

Suggestions
We're now listing suggestions here[docs.google.com]. If there's anything you'd like to see on the list that's not there, let us know!

Kerbal Space Programme ‘how to get to space’ event; get everyone on mumble, and chat about their progress + q&a.

I had a brief chat with the Frozenbyte guys the other day. We might be able to get some of them to play Trine 2/join us in Mumble next month :)

It'd also be nice to organise stuff for games as we approach their release dates (Gear Up, Starbound, etc.) so that we can play them soon after they come out

I also suggested Frozen Synapse

Yes you did :)
Take a look here

The suggestions I put in here, are suggested after we arranged an event or it has happened :)

Guns of Icarus Online is a great team vs team vs team game

more CS:S please.

I think that we should probably also consider having some more events during the week at times that don't aim to find a comfortable middle ground for everybody (since that slot is fairly well occupied by our Friturday events).

I imagine that this would also end up getting people feeling more comfortable using our servers outside of our events :)

Hey since its at night. Killing Floor would be nice. Also, Half-life Deathmatch is a good fun game.

We played HL2: DM last week. It was pretty awesome. I imagine that we'll do another one at some stage.

In the meantime, we've got two servers[steamlug.org] running for it at the moment, and also two CS: S servers. Yay!

Feel free to ask people in #steamlug[steamlug.org] to join if you need more players :)

Although a bit different than john's suggestion, how about doing something in Kerbal Space Program like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCe-1VU3c7Y
Although I don't have KSP, I would love to see a SteamLUG spacestation ;D

If only it were a thing we could all do collaboratively!

Another vote for Guns of Icarus - though may be worth waiting until they're in a sale again (they're looking into it and do a cheaper 4-pack thing...so it would be easier to get people in).
Cheeseness 14 Apr, 2013 @ 5:51am
We could do a news post calling for interested Guns of Icaris players and gauge interest - if we've already got a strong community of players, then there's no need to wait for a sale (especially since we don't have much notice of sales).

I don't know a lot about the game. Is it something that would work better as a clan thing rather than an isolated event?
