Tournament Rules and Procedures
When are tournaments held?
Tournaments will be held on Fridays at 7:00 PM EST. Registration will open on Mondays. Check-in will begin 3 hours before the tournament, and end 30 minutes before the tournament begins.

How to I register for a tournament?
We will be using Challonge[skillgrills.challonge.com] so make sure you have an account. On Monday, the Challonge bracket will be posted in a group announcement, and in all subsequent announcements regarding that tournament. 30 minutes before the tournament, you will need to check-in on the Challonge bracket. Additionally, make sure you are in the group chat before the tournament begins, because that is where you will find your opponents. Make sure your Challonge Name is the same as your Steam Name.

What are the match rules?
The matches will be played in best of 3 sets. For 3v3, 3v2, 3v1, 2v2, or 2v1 matches a set consists of 1 round, as it does in the base game. For 1v1 matches a set is considered the best of 3 rounds, again as it is in the base game. Each round will have a 90 second timer, again just as the base game. Round number and round timer should not be altered from the default. If you are not hosting the lobby, make sure that the host has set these values to the defaults.

There is no restriction on characters, assists, team ratios, or stages. All games are to be played through Skullgirls, and not the Endless Beta, unless otherwise stated. If you have a preference for a certain stage, such as Class Notes, discuss it with your opponent beforehand. You may opt to take turns selecting the stage, or play all matches on the same stage.

After the first set, the loser may change their character(s). After the second set, both players may change their character(s). After the first set, the loser may request to host, if they feel the need.

How do I report my standings to Challonge?
After each match, the loser is to report the standings to Challonge. To do this, click on the question mark next to your name, or your opponents name in the bracket, and enter the number of sets won by each player. Then, select the winner, and click submit score. If for some reason the loser cannot report their standings, or has forgotten to, the winner may report their score.

The tournament has started, what do I do?
First, find your opponent by either calling them out in the group chat or sending them a private message through Steam. Agree on which one of you will host, then the host will create a lobby, and invite the other player. Male sure it is a 2 slot lobby. Once you're both set, play your sets, and report your standings on Challonge afterwards.

If either player requests it, you can perform a button-check before each match to both make sure their controller is functional, and that there are no significant lag issues.

Potential issues.
If, 5 minutes after you have attempted to contact your opponent, and you have attempted to contact them both through PM and the group chat multiple times, they have forfeited their match. Contact a group officer regarding the issue, and once they acknowledge it, report your standings on Challonge.

If a player disconnects during a match, that then the other player may either take that set as a victory, or allow the offending player to reconnect and play the set again. However, the last set in a match must always be played. If a player disconnects twice, they must forfeit the match.

In the event that two players have extreme lag when attempting to connect to each other, and both have tried hosting, they may choose to play the matches with the lag, or use another means to determine who wins, such as rock, paper, scissors. Both players must be in agreement. This is only a contingency plan for the rare events where the lag may be so bad that two players will be unable to play their sets.

If someone has misreported their standings, please contact a group officer as soon as you notice the error.

Can I stream my matches?
Yes, so long as it does not affect your connection. Notfiy your opponent that you are streaming, out of courtesy. In fact, as long as your connection is solid enough to support it, we support streaming. To help people find tournament streams, you may would to put some form of tag at the beginning of your stream title.

For further questions, feel free to contact me, or another officer.
