⭐️(1.) What is P2P ?

In the marketplace model of peer-to-peer lending on the Internet, private lenders can find private borrowers - and vice versa. This model brings borrowers and lenders together through an auction-like process. The marketplace model may include other intermediates or the sale of a loan, but the loan is always sold to an individual or a pool of individuals in the end.

By contrast, the Family and Friends model dispenses with the auction process and focuses on borrowers and lenders who already know each other. This model does not focus on finding a loan, but on cooperation and support in the formal processing of the loan. Another form of peer-to-peer credit is crowd lending, where a group lends money to an individual or individuals to a group.

Models of peer-to-peer credit seek to revive the social component of the credit lost in centralized bank models. At the same time, the lenders themselves can decide to whom to lend money for what purpose and how long. Peer-to-peer credit also builds on the theoretical assumption that existing interpersonal relationships or other forms of social commitment improve fiscal responsibility and, hence, the repayment rate. This effect is also used by so-called microcredits in developing countries.

$ 118 million was raised globally in 2005, $ 269 million the following year, and $ 647 million in 2007 through peer-to-peer loans. In 2012, the worldwide volume amounted to approx. 1.5 billion euros . In Europe alone, peer-to-peer loans totaling € 2.1 billion were granted in 2015. The world's largest peer-to-peer lending marketplace by far is the US based Lending Club platform. The ten largest in Europe are, according to the 2013 Forbes ranking, the following platforms: 1. Zopa (United Kingdom), 2. Ratetter (United Kingdom), 3. Funding Circle (United Kingdom), 4. Auxmoney (Germany), 5. Bondora (UK) Estonia), 6. Pret d'Union (France), 7. ThinCats (Great Britain), 8. Smartika (Italy), 9. Comunitae (Spain) and 10. Funding Knight (Great Britain).

⭐️(3.) How to invest ? (settings/options)

1. I completed the very easy to understand registration and waited for the e-mail confirmation

2. I have adjusted the settings according to my needs.
The attitudes are easy to understand and regulate, among other things, the level of interest rates, the level of risk in relation to the loans, the level at which you want to invest per loan and in which countries you want to invest.

3. Since I want to generate a passive income, I activated the ´´autoinvest´´.
The autoinvest distributes my money automatically according to my wishes and reinvest the profits.
do not forget to set up to which account size the autoinvestor should reinvest, but you can also keep only the paid money invested and withdraw the interest incurred.

- 3.1 Settings/Options:
There are essentially two ways to set up a portfolio individually:
(Example Bondora)

(a) The easiest way is to set the slider and click autoinvest

CONSERVATIVE---BALANCED---PROGRESSIVE---(OPPORTUNISTIC)
the expected returns are displayed directly

(b) If you want to have it more precise, you can make some additional settings

- Available cash balance.
Hereby you set how much money should always be on your portfolio.

- Current loans.
By activating this function, the Portfolio Manager invests in the secondary market. Yes, you heard right. But do not worry, he does not invest in any junk, but only in loans that were not overdue during their term and that do not include premiums.

- Amount of the bid.
This is the amount at which you place individual bids. This value correlates with the value directly below it.
- The maximum investment per loan.
For example, if you have a Bid Size of 5 EUR, but a maximum investment of 25 EUR per loan, it can happen that the Portfolio Manager invests several times in the same loan.

- The minimum investment per credit.
is used when, for example, the loan can not capture your normal bid size. For example, if there are still 25 EUR open, but you have a bid size of 50 EUR.

⭐️(4.) Criteria for platform choice?

These criteria are just my own preferences.

(Fundamental)
- Has the company been active for some years and is it growing constantly?
- Does it publish growth figures and give itself transparent?
- Is there anything special to know about the CEO?
- In which country is the company active and which financial authority is it subject to?
- Settlement in the event of insolvency?
- Where does the company see itself in the future and what is it working on?

(Technical)
- good service good accessibility?
- cost structure?
- easy to understand platform?

(Psychological)
- Do I feel comfortable with the provider?
- Do I feel comfortable with the account size?
- Are my expectations realistic?

⭐️(5.) ways to control the flow of money

Available cash balance/Account size ... . The brokers use different names in their settings, but what does that mean?
This refers to how big the amount invested should be.

- 1. Reinvesting money flow
If you pay 1000 euros, and set the account size to 1500 euros, then the autoinvestor reinvested the money until 1500 euros are invested on loans.

- 2. Distributing money flow
If you pay 1000 euros, and set the account size to 1000 euros, then the autoinvestor only invests these 1000 euros, and the profits are paid to the brokerage account and are ready to be paid out.

In this way, you can choose whether you want to keep the profits directly, or whether you want to grow your account for a longer time.
