High-Protector of Resdayn:

Great House Indoril
While it was the greatest house of Morrowind in the Second Era, the capitulation of Morrowind by Tiber Septim marked the downfall of Great House Indoril. House Hlaalu assassinated a number of Indoril nobles and Councilors, marking a large waning of Indoril power throughout Morrowind. Furthermore, the usual support of the Temple faded as the Tribunes and the Heirarchy of the Temple avoided politics following the colonization of Morrowind. With the death of Almalexia at the hands of the Nerevarine, and the further plummeting of Indoril power with the collapsing of the Temple, House Dres allied with House Hlaalu, and curbed what little influence House Indoril had into stagnation throughout the remaining years of the Third Era.

Great House Dres
Throughout the Second and early Third Era, Great House Dres was a very prosperous House, which dominated southern Morrowind. Sticking to the old ways of Daedra worship, while still being pious towards the Tribunal of AlmSiVi, House Dres was described by Vivec as the past of pre-Tribunal Great House culture, a persistent tradition of Daedra- and ancestor-worshipping civilized Dunmer clans. Through this end, the Dres were amongst the most traditionalist of the Dunmeri people, and were natural allies with Great House Indoril. However, following the collapse of the Temple of AlmSiVi and the waning of House Indoril, House Dres decided to form a new alliance with the cunning King of Morrowind, Hlaalu Helseth, and pick apart the carcass of ruined Indoril, following a renunciation of the slave trade in Morrowind.

The collapse of the Temple shook the status quo of Great House Dres, from the Second Age into the Fourth. Thankfully, having perpetually worshipped the Daedra since they days of the Prophet, Veloth, House Dres quickly assimilated into the worship of the Reclamations. This was but small respite, however, as foes rallied in the southern swamps.

The renunciation of the slave trade was not enough to appease the Argonians, empowered by the Hist and commanded by the An-Xileel. Droves of Argonians attacked Morrowind, with their eyes first set on the former slave masters of House Dres. The great walls of Tear were leveled during the Red Year; the reknown fortifications of the Jewel of the East were stripped. The Dres were content to evacuate the city and let it fall into ruin, and in the process slay as many Argonians as possible, rather than see it fall, in-tact, into Argonian hands. Buildings were demolished as the Argonians entered, the wooden districts set aflame, and the prison population set free, to harass the Argonians as much as was possible.

The city of Tear has been in Argonian hands for years. Now it is an overgrown ruin, yet the Argonians maintain the city with their own crafts.

Great House Hlaalu
While Great House Hlaalu was is the most powerful house in Morrowind in the Third Era, t

Great House Redoran
Throughout the Third Era, the Redoran were the most esteemed and honorable warriors of Morrowind. Despite an adherance to traditional Dunmer virtues and customs, the Redoran saw the Imperial Legions as respectful rivals to play a light-hearted game of power against. But the Redoran were constantly undermined by Imperial Bureaucracy, which was content in creating corrupt business deals with Great House Hlaalu. The bitter taste left in the mouths of the warrior house left them no remorse when the Imperials left Morrowind.

Remaining steadfast and perservering through the collapse of the very Temple they adamantly supported for so long, the Redoran did their best to remain strong following the Red Year. Caldera was given to corrupt bureaucrats and Hlaalu businessmen; but Caldera became an infernal following the Red Year. Raven Rock, on the other hand, was one of the most potent sources of ebony in Tamriel. When the Imperials abandoned the colony, the Redoran came in to capitalize from its profits. The new opportunities resulting from such turbulent times allowed the House to halt the advance of the Argonians, and as Mournhold-Almalexia was besieged by Argonians, Blacklight became the new capital of Morrowind, and housed the Grand Council in the new age of the Fourth Era, even unto the onset of the Fifth.

Great House Telvanni
Aloof from both Imperial and Temple politics, House Telvanni neither benefited nor was disadvantaged by the withdrawal of the Imperials. While thankful for the lack of Imperial enforcers to ensure that the Slave Trade ceased in Port Telvannis, the Telvanni, along with the rest of the Great Houses, suffered from the Oblivion Crisis, despite the best efforts of the Wizards to mitigate its effects in Morrowind.

The collapse of AlmSiVi and the rise of the new Temple of the Reclamations did not affect the Wizard-Lords of House Telvanni. However, the continuation of the Slave Trade resulted in vindication of the Wizard-Lords by the invading Argonians, who, after temporarily capturing the lands of Great House Dres, attempted to whipe out House Telvanni, including the sacking of its Capital of Port Telvannis, and the extermination of the Parliament of Bugs.

Though now few and far between, the Telvanni have lived on, some from successfully defending pockets of resistance in the Telvanni Isles, and others from scattering throughout Morrowind. With the Telvanni constructing new Towers throughout the lands, it is readily apparent that the Argonians failed in whiping them out as a political power at all. However, the destruction of so many cities resulted in a very dwindled population of Magi in Port Telvannis. The new institutions would have to be built anew, and the Wizard Lords themselves would have to come out of their towers to teach the people in the Telvanni Isles themselves, should they hope for the Dunmer to regain their former prowess in the arts of Magic.
