NOTE - To report any form of cheating, harassment, toxic behavior and/or issue, talk to an admin. Try your best to record a demo or a mumble recording for concrete evidence.


✬ It is absolutely forbidden to pretend to be someone you are not. Taking the identity of a staff member who has particular privileges will be met with punishment.
✬ Toxic language and any form of harassment is forbidden.
✬ If someone is being toxic, kindly notify them they are being toxic and ask them to stop. If it continues try to record the situation and report it immediately to an admin.
✬ Harassment has to be reported immediately to an admin.
✬ This includes broadcasting of sexual content in a public space, voluntary intimidation and broadcast of any embarrassing material (photos, videos of audio records).
✬It is absolutely forbidden to notify a team of the tank's health and SI spawn locations.


✬ If you have any concern about team balancing, state it BEFORE the match begins.
✬ It is forbidden to kick a player because his actual level or low skillcap in order to gain a better player. Don’t slot steal or switch teams. Do not sub a better player so your team can win.
✬ It is forbidden to act in a toxic manner that can be detrimental to your team or teammates (friendly fire, insults, etc…).
✬ It is forbidden to pause the game in order to destabilize players in action.
✬ Leaving a game that is not finished is forbidden. If you have an emergency, be sure to have a sub and/or to warn your team.
✬ Do not grief your team. If you are not having fun, find a sub. L4D2 is about teamwork, if you stay positive and motivate your team the outcome may be different.


✬ The use of cheat engine, macro, scripts, etc… is forbidden.
✬ If you suspect a player of cheating, you can report it to our anti-cheat staff.
IMPORTANT : record the game . A demo is the only concrete proof that confirms the cheats. Even visual proof for outside observer can be enough.

As long as our anti-cheat team has not given its verdict, it is forbidden to accuse a player of using a cheat engine.
Cheating & Glitching

Some examples of items that are considered cheating:
✬ Internal or external programs that aim for you or assist your aim.
✬ Utilizing binds to spam pistol shots or bunnyhop (scroll up&down, double bind, ETC)
✬ Aim bots, no spreads, ESP (wallhacks), etc
✬ Alterations to SI skins
✬ SI trails
✬ Altering the map to remove vegetation (Mathacks)
✬ Alterations to sound files
✬ Custom weapon skins
✬ Custom skyboxes
✬ Custom HUDs
✬ Any attempt to override a server's addons setting
✬ Cheating or tool used to gain an advantage over another player of any kind will result in a permanent ban.

Glitching of maps is highly frowned upon, and may result in a one week ban. If the behavior persists, the player may be subject to the Toxic Players policy. Examples of glitching include, but not limited to:
✬ Spawning under the map
✬ Teleporting the tank or other SI
✬ Intentional pausing during witch for disruption
✬ Other glitches, such as spawning through the safe room door at the end of a map or blocking tank on a ladder, are considered bad sportmanship. Please, play fair, it will be more fun for everyone.

💀 Macros & Scripts

Macros and scripts are forbidden. Utilizing hardware capabilities to create macros is seen as a third-party helper. First offense will be 1 month ban. Repeat offense is a permanent ban.

In the case of mouse wheel pistolling, bhop, hunter, you will have one verbal warning with a 2 day ban. 2nd offence is 2 months, 3rd offence is perma.

💩 VAC-Banned account

And as cheaters are not desired on eFreak servers : any player who has been recently VAC-banned (less than three months ago) caught playing on the servers will be automatically banned without any warning. Even if this VAC-Ban was not on L4D2 : cheating is cheating.

😭 Bans/Complaints Summary

Please do not try to complain or dispute a ban. All complaints and disputes are formally tracked in order to maintain accountability.

If you do not include your Steam username and contact email address, your ban submission will not be reviewed.


The procedure for team selection is covered in the article How to Start a PUG. Once teams are chosen, they are set for the game. In the interest of fairness, if teams are obviously uneven, changes can be made if they are agreed upon by the majority of both teams. If a player must leave a game due to a real life priority, it is the responsibility of that player to find an appropriate sub prior to leaving. If multiple spectators are interested in subbing, they should be selected based on order of joining the game, not based on skill preference.


If you receive a ban, it is not acceptable to continue to PUG in [e]Freak by simply choosing a non-[e]Freak server. Therefore, a ban from the [e]Freak servers may also include a ban from the L4D2 Lobbies in Mumble, or a complete ban from Mumble. Attempting to circumvent a ban in any way, including utilizing an alt account, is considered a serious offense.

If you wish to report a player for violating these rules, you must submit a Ban Request on the [e]Freak Sourcebans[46.105.121.221]. Please do not contact an admin directly, as you will just be directed to Sourcebans. If you do not submit a Sourcebans Request, including full details of the situation, as well as your contact information, then no action will be taken.

Please note that these rules are only applicable to the L4D2 Public Lobbies, and are not enforced in Private Lobbies and Personal Channels. Private games are self-regulated by the players, and admins will typically only get involved if the situation involves toxic behavior.

Spamming the announcements will result in a three hour ban - what constistutes spamming will be at the admins' discretion.


In an effort to provide greater visibility and accountability, usernames in the [e]Freak Mumble need to reflect your well-known username in Steam. You are allowed a bit of creativity, for example DusTea instead of Dusty, but in general it should be obvious who you are in Mumble. If your current Mumble username does not comply with this policy, an admin may manually change your username. If you wish to request a username change in Mumble to comply with the new policy, or if you have a concern with a manual change of your username, please feel free to contact any [e]Freak admin and we will be happy to assist. Please note that intentionally attempting to circumvent this policy may result in corrective action.

In general, your behavior and etiquette in Mumble is just as important as your behavior on the servers. You are expected to be mature and respectful in Mumble at all times. Please note that any game played in the [e]Freak Mumble is considered a [e]Freak game, regardless of what game server is being used, and therefore any issues may result in corrective action in [e]Freak.


It is up to the losing team at the end of the previous map to decide whether they wish to play finale. If it is reported that somebody is not respecting this rule, an admin may take action. The only exception for this rule is for Parish finale, which is only to be played when BOTH teams agree to play.


Whenever you are assigned a tank, you should play that tank. DO NOT spectate to avoid playing your tank, unless you, or the person you are subbing for, have already played a tank, and in fairness it should be played by a different member of your team.


Spectators are allowed so long as they aren't disruptive to the game in process. This means keeping MM1 (AllChat) to a minimum. If a player finds your chatter disruptive, it is within their right to insist spectators use MM2 (Team Chat) only. Spectators abusing this rule are subject to a one hour ban, and if the behavior continues, maybe subject to the Toxic Players policy.



Unsportsmanlike Conduct Offenses
✬ Glitching, abuse of !spectate or other unsportsmanlike conduct: 1 Day
✬ Leave the tank to someone else without his/her consent : 1 Day

Offenses related to Game Delays
✬ Consistently holding up a lobby / pug / mix : 1 Day
✬ Leaving a game without a substitute / Rage Quitting: 2 Days
✬ Refusal to play finale when required: 2 Days
✬ Leaving a game without a Admin agreeing to a ''gg'' will count as a Rage Quit and will result in a 2 days ban.
✬ Votekicking without justification: 2 Days

Toxic Behavior
✬ Teammates drop-out / Team killing or being suicidal (Griefing): 7 Days
✬ Griefing, intentional saccing, and all other toxic behavior: 7 Days
✬ Harassment of another player in mumble / steam 7 Days
✬ Harassment of staff & staff identity theft : 1 Month

Cheating Related Offenses
✬ Using macro & script: 1 month, then permaban for repeat offense.
✬ AutoM1 (Dual pistols, Bhop, Hunter) - 2 days, 2nd offence is 2 months, 3rd is perma.
✬ Cheating & serious misconduct (sexual content, broadcast to discredit someone...) : Permanent
✬ Vac-Banned account less than 3 months : 3 months

Smurfing Related Offenses
✬ Smurfing as another player : 1 Week
✬ Alternate Accounts : Permanent; 1 Week (Main Account)
✬ Impersonation of Staff : 1 month
✬ Attempts to Circumvent a Ban Through Mumble / Alternate Accounts : 2x Original Ban

Steam Group Related
✬ Announcement Spam (Anything other than a post related to pug / scrim. If you have to ask about it you probably shouldn't be posting it.) Announcement Prvilieges Suspended
✬ Inviting a player previously kicked from the group Announcement Prvilieges Suspended
✬ Deleting another user's announcements. Announcement Prvilieges Suspended

Anyhow if we see some other kind of behaviour that is not right nor acceptable - don´t be surprised if you get a small ban gift. Similar offenses can possibly lead to bans doubling in length at the admin's discretion.
No one has to unban someone who got banned by another admin. If you wanna complain about your ban - contact the admin who banned you.
