Rules & Guidelines
Please be aware that upon logging into our servers and having read this page (which you are required to do) it is assumed that you have thoroughly and completely read through and agree to our rules. Failure to do so can result in rather swift consequences and exclusion from our community.

NOTE!
This is the extended and thoroughly defined section upon the rules. There is (will be) a summarized version in game but this list is here with the intention to prevent any and all confusion.

Also, understand that these rules are here to encourage and guide the entire community to a mutual environment of enjoyment and encourage good sportsmanship behavior. These rules are not here to hinder gameplay but to provide the environment desired for the community we are trying to build. These rules are not up for debate nor public discussion. If you disagree with any of these rules then please consider the possibility that our community might not be the right fit for you if you can not live with it.

1) Admins
* All players are required to follow any and all instructions given to them by an admin. Ignoring instructions will result in harsh consequences resulting with repeated offenders becoming permanently banned.
* Admins are and have always been prohibited from raiding or taking part in a raids; therefore admin bases/structures are also not allowed to be raided by players.
* If you shoot or attack an admin however, your current life (and possible involved dino’s) are forfeit.
* No disrespecting the admins or the server, ever. If you do not like it here, find another server.
* Do not harass admins with a request or a problem. Harrassing an admin will result in you just becoming ignored.
* In the event of a problem that requires an admins intervention, admins will go out of their way to respond to you as soon as posibble (we try to respond no later than 24 hours, but thats not a set in stone time, we have lives outside of ARK!) However, once we get with you to begin resolving a problem, don't expect an immediate solution to the problem.

2) No Discussions or references of Politics, Religion, Ethnicity, or Sexual Orientation/Identity.
* We’d love to not have to censor, however we are left with no option but to make these topics permanently off limits. We're here to play ARK, not debate real world topics.
* This especially means no slurs, slander or references of any kind.

3) No Discussing Rule Violations in Public Channels
Exactly as the label states. You may not discuss or bring up rule violations in any public channel. If you have a problem or see a problem, take it up with the admins in private. We’re all here to enjoy this game and PvP, not bicker and spit venom at one another over supposed rule violators.

4) No Griefing
Definition:
grief·er
ˈɡrēfə/
noun
(in an online game or community) a person who harasses or deliberately provokes other players or members in order to spoil their enjoyment.

Griefing is the act of chronically causing consternation to other members of an online community, or more specifically, intentionally disrupting the immersion of another player(s) in their gameplay.

This server defines griefing with some of the following situations:
* No Killing or Harrassing New Players
A new player is defined as follows. Any “active” player level 20 and below who is keeping in the general vicinity of the default spawning locations. Attacking or even taunting new players will be met with severe repercussions.
* Raiding without intent: You must raid with intent. If you do not intend on looting a player's base and are just trying to cause consternation for that player, it is considered griefing.
* Falsely reporting and/or fabricating information without adequate evidence (at an admins discretion) to support the claim. Admins will not act on word alone and will not give baseless accusations merit.

5) Botting, Exploiting, and ToS
Botting is a computer program that runs concurrently with an online game to give a player an unfair advantage. Bots may alter the game environment, boost the abilities of the player's character or hinder opponents.
Any player found to be using a BOT will be permanently banned from the server and reported to Steam VAC as well as Battleye.
Exploiting is the act of intentionally using a situational, item, environment or other variable in manner that it was not intentionally designed for to grant the player an unfair advantage.
Again, any player found guilty of this offense will be permanently banned and reported to Battleye.
Our server also enforces the ToS that is agreed to upon installation.

6) Capturing
Capture time-limits are as follows:
Open world - 20m
During raid - 2 hours (If raid ends before, then when raid ends.)
It is advised that a victim takes a screenshot once they are imprisoned and both the capturer and imprisoned take screenshots of when the release transpires to validate the event. Failure to do so can result in a total lack of consequences if an issue comes up.

7) Structures
* CLEAN UP YOUR TAMING PENS!!! This is a common strategy for taming Dino's. Make a pen, trick the dino to go into it, and begin taming care free! Now, it's cool to do this, but pick up the pen when your done, this is why we have S+. Tribes will be given a warning to clean up. Repeat offenders have entire bases wiped. It's that simple.
* No structure spamming is allowed for any reason. This is defined as the action of placing pillars, foundations, or any structural pieces down and outside of your base with the intention of blocking resources, dino spawns, player/tribe movement and so forth.
* Bases and structures may NOT be built in locations that hinder or block access to:
- Obelisks
- Caves
- Mountains
- Major Resource Nodes
- Essential Dino Spawns (as defined by the admins and i.e. penguins, wyverns, etc.)
* Each tribe may only own up to 3 fixed bases at any given time and 1 forward raid base (for the duration of the raid.)
* A forward base is a structure with a foundation on land near an enemy base with the intent of raiding. All items must be attached or “snapped” (up to 4 snaps) to the main structure. Any structure placed away or not attached to the Forward Base will be considered structure spamming. Once a raid has finished or failed the forward base must be removed promptly.

8) Building Limitations
* Building in Loot Caves or upon primary and essential resource and dino spawn locations is prohibited.
Example: If there is an area with an abundance of metal, crystal, obsidian, etc, then do not build on or near that area.
* Tribes are limited to 3-bases per tribe
* Taming pens or additional similar temporary structures are allowed to be built at any time, even if you already have 4 bases. However, these structures are “temporary.” If these structures are not removed after their intended use the structures will be removed without warning or discussion.
* For dino platforms, the rider may be covered but the dino itself cannot be covered. This means a dino with a platform saddle may not be covered nor have any section of it’s body blocked by structural pieces. You can build up and out by not down and around the dino.

9) General Rules
* All names for all players created in ARK are only allowed to have standard English characters.
* All communication conducted in Global Channels must be spoken in English. This is simply the chosen common ground of communication. This is a US Server.
* Tribes names are not allowed to be changed EVER once the initial name is selected. If a tribe desires or needs to change their tribe name, they must not currently be in conflict with another tribe and obtain approval from an admin after providing sufficient reasoning for wishing to do so. Repeat Violators of this rule will have full bases wiped.
* If told to change a tribe name due to something inappropriate and the chosen name change is still inappropriate your entire tribe will be wiped and perma banned. Young adults are welcome to play here, but childish antics and immaturity is not welcome.
* Do not advertise other servers. This is a swift and automatic permanent ban.

Further Information:

* If there is ever an issue and an admin is not online, please collect evidence, such as screenshots or videos to substantiate claims of rule violations

* Raiding is defined as approaching and engaging with an enemy base and its fortifications with the inclination to penetrate its defenses and take resources.

* Due to the nature of this game and it’s level of security the rules will from here on out be strongly enforced without discrimination. As a result the consequences distributed by admins will not only swift but brutal. It is up to you to ask an admin questions for any confusion or uncertainty you may have. If you screw up, it’s on you, not us. You have been warned.
Some common punishments are as followed:
- Tribe Dino’s Wiped
- Total Base Wipe
- 24 Hour Ban
- Permanent Ban

Admins will NOT replace items or dinos lost for any reason. This game is in Alpha and upon purchasing this game, we all agreed to accept and partake of the game in it’s current state.

=NOTES/FIXES=
* Add/emphasize/explain the importance of good sportsmanship and be clear on the ideals of respect.
* Revise #4 Griefing, specifically raiding without intent. It is a bit restricting and forces conditions of ultimatums. Suggest removing and discussing harassment and heckling.
* Discuss harassment and cover concepts like frequently attacking the same tribe or tribes on a routine (daily) basis.
* Advise against bullying (define it) in the further information but do not restrict or regulate for the time being.
* Clean up and merge rules #7 and #8 to "Structures and Building Limitations." Most notes are the same and redundant.
