TL;DR
Hi! I'm r6d2's trading bot.

To trade with me please send me an offer via Barter.[barter.vg]

I will accept any offer that is possible to fulfill with my current trading inventory and wishlist filters. For detailed information about how I operate please read the following posts.

Thank you very much for your interest on this project. Questions and comments are welcome.

IMPORTANT: I'm currently operating in MANUAL MODE only

Trade offer guidelines
  • At the moment I'm only receiving offers via Barter.
  • I'm only able to process Steam games at this time, no Uplay or Origin offers, please.
  • I've been recently upgraded to process Humble giftlinks and Steam gifts.
  • I will accept most offers you send, as long as our games are on similar tiers, your games comply with my filters and are not in my library.
  • If you offer games not in my wishlist, I will consider them belonging in the lowest tier.
  • I can manage several offer types:
-1:1 (no choice on either side,1 game on each side only.)
-1:1 (with choices on either side, but will pick 1 game on each side only.)
-n:n (no choice on either side, n games on each side as a whole.)
  • To allow handling of unforeseen situations, please use 7 days expiration time.
  • I process offers strictly on a first come-first served order, so I may decline a trade if I no longer have the item you wanted.
  • I may also decline an offer if I already have enough pending trades for an item on the incoming or outgoing queues.
  • You may add me on Steam as soon as you send the offer. That will very likely speed up our trade.
  • Please keep in mind that during the actual trade you will always go first.
  • I'm an experimental bot so It may take me 1 or 2 days to fulfill my side of the trade. Please be patient.

IMPORTANT
Due to potential region lock issues with Humble Bundle keys, for games on my wishlist tagged as "gift link" 🎁 I can only accept giftlinks.

Please choose step 1.a or 1.b according to the case at hand, then proceed to step 2. (See [1] below)

1.a Trading procedure - Auto
If your game is a Humble giftlink or a Steam gift (NOT Indiegala link), then the trade will be very fast since it will occur almost automatically. You will need to use this email address:
barter.<tradenumber>.rasr@xoxy.net (replace <tradenumber> with the number of our accepted trade. For example: barter.1234567.rasr@xoxy.net)
  1. If your game is a Humble Bundle giftlink, like this please fill in the above email address on the "Email" and "Verify email" boxes before clicking "Claim".
  2. If your game is a Steam gift, like this please send it directly via mail on Steam to the above email address.
  3. If we are not friends already, send me a friend request on Steam.
  4. Only once I receive your game I will add you back.
  5. I will in turn send you my game via Steam chat and proceed as in step 2 below.

1.b Trading procedure - Manual
If your game is an already revealed key or an Indiegala link, then the trade will be much slower, since one particular part of the operation requires manual intervention from my creator.
  1. If we are not friends already, send me a friend request on Steam. I will greet you when ready to proceed.
  2. Open a Steam chat window and greet me in whatever way you feel comfortable.
  3. NOTICE: If your game is a Humble giftlink or a Steam gift please use the faster method outlined above.
  4. WARNING: If your game is a key from Humble Bundle, and I have it tagged as "gift link" 🎁 on the offer, I'm afraid we'll have to cancel the trade. Just do it you first and I'll catch up later. Blame it on HB and their obscure region locks. I appreciate your understanding.
  5. Paste your game's name and key, separated by a space. You can also use a line for the name and another one for the key if you want. I will recognize most Steam key formats.
  6. Once a day I will attempt to redeem all received keys and I'll inform you about the result of yours.
  7. If your key didn't work, I'll give you the Steam diagnostics obtained and wait for another key.
  8. Once I receive your game I will in turn send you mine and proceed as in step 2 below.

2 Aftermath
  1. Once your key has redeemed successfully, I will complete the trade and rate our interaction in my records for future reference.
  2. I will also ask you to rep our interaction, which I'd really appreciate if you feel satisfied.

IMPORTANT: If you think I'm taking too long to respond, please don't panic. I'm monitored at least once a day. If something must be fixed, it will be.

Footnotes
[1] If you don't have significant rep and/or we haven't traded successfully before, I can only accept giftlinks or Steam gifts for the time being. Thanks for understanding.

About me
I'm written mostly in AWK[en.wikipedia.org] and AutoIt[en.wikipedia.org] but I also run on top of ASF[github.com] and its companion ASFui[github.com], which frankly makes my job a lot easier. I also use IFTTT[ifttt.com] for notifications.

My main objective for now is to process simple 1:1 choice-less trades of Steam game keys.

I'm a work in progress, so please be prepared for some quirks and bugs. Also, I'm not running 24x7 yet so please be patient. It may take me a while to catch up.

My conversations on Steam chat are in general not monitored in real time, although they are logged for review and debugging. Should the need arise, human intervention from my maker will try to amend and fix whatever went wrong.

Thanks again for your interest in this project. Questions and comments are welcome.

FAQ - What do the Ratings A/B/C mean?
My design considers you may not feel comfortable dealing with a non-human entity, hence I keep detailed records on how I interact with you.

I start with a total score of zero with every trader. I do the following calculations after every interaction we have:
  • Positive: our interaction ended in a fulfilled trade, +1 is added to my total score with you.
  • Neutral: our interaction did not end in a fulfilled trade, my total score with you remains unchanged. For instance, you did not like my offer but did not counter either.
  • Negative: our interaction was a failure, -1 is added to my total score with you. For instance, trade could not be completed because of an invalid key, abandoning an accepted trade or perhaps you're just uncomfortable dealing with a non-human entity.
All this translates over time into ratings A/B/C, meaning:
  • A: My current score with you is positive. I will accept new offers from you and I may also send you mine from time to time.
  • B: My current score with you is neutral. I will accept new offers from you but I will not bother you with mine for 4 weeks.
    - If this happens twice in a row, my cooldown period with you will be 4 months.
    - If this happens three times in a row, my cooldown period with you will be 1 year.
  • C: My current score with you is negative. I may accept new offers from you but I will not bother you with mine anymore.

Update: I support some other types of offers now!
  • You can try sending me 1:1 with choices on either side now.
  • You can also try n:n with no choices on either side as well.

Interesting idea, that must've taken some work to develop. I've accepted a trade from your bot and redeemed the Humble Link at the address indicated, but how am I supposed to receive the answer? Email would make sense since I think you get my email through the gift link? Or do I have to periodically check I didn't miss a chat message?

Note that I friended your bot *after* sending the gift link (it hasn't accepted the invite yet), I imagine that could cause problems to its logic.

This part hasn't been figured out completely by my creator yet, so I have to resort to human-oriented Steam chat interface, which, let me be honest, kind of sucks for a humble bot. :)

Every time I find a different use case my creator has to patch the code. :-)

But don't worry, worst case scenario he'll fulfill whatever needed anyway.

There's some idea in the works for having 2 way email fulfilling, but it's not there yet. Thanks for your interest! :steamhappy:

Is the source code available for your bot? The program language is a bit odd for my taste, but I'd like to see how it works. I am considering making a bot too in NodeJS, which supports functions like steam chat, key redeeming and steam friend requests.

None of these functions reside on me, since my creator would not reinvent the wheel. They are just calls to ASF. I suggest you to do the same. Thanks for your interest!

What no? I'm just saying you can make a basic ASF in nodejs fairly quickly. It has good existing packages you can use. All I am curious about was how you everything did, but I already got a general idea.

Hi! I'm waiting for the bot to accept my friend request, as we have a trade to fulfull, but he doesn't do it. What shall I do?

(Sorry if I'm not supposed to write in here, but I can't add you as friend, r6d2, your friendlist is full.)
