Welcome to the World of Steam Forums Online!
-What is S.F.O.?

S.F.O. is a tongue-in-cheek group for fans of the Steam Community forums based on the every day antics of the Steam Community and forums.

Members are encouraged to be helpful, polite (when possible) engage in constructive posting and not be a jerk. That doesn't mean you can't disagree with people, tell them when they're wrong or point out when they're full of crap though. Sometimes people have to be told the hard truth. No one is expected to be a perfect saint 100% of the time.

S.F.O. isn't a "cool guy" or "we're better than you" club. Although, I do certainly consider many people here to be much cooler than myself. It's not a vanity group for myself personally. It's not a group to collect famous users or people with a Steam level of 9000.

It's simply a community focused group with an emphasis on being generally helpful...most of the time.

Group participation is entirely optional. There are no obligations or requirements. Most of you already participate in the Steam Community on a regular basis. Just keep doing what you're already doing. ;)

If you would like to contribute you can post discussions for community improvement, share ideas, funny forum stories, give each other feedback, random chit chat or post nothing at all! It's totally up to you.

-Rules? Sure!

You should follow the Discussions Rules and Guidelines. All Steam Community Rules and Guidelines are in effect here.

While we appreciate humor, people who violate the Steam Community Rules and Guidelines on a repeated basis are not welcome here.

Please leave drama at the door. It's okay to disagree with each other but within this group everyone should respect each other. I would definitely encourage members to respect each other on the general Steam forums as well. Again, there's nothing wrong with disagreeing however I would like to emphasize that when helping other people, we give them accurate information. If you see something wrong posted by a member, you may want to message them or just politely reply with a correction. Pobody's Nerfect.

-Membership/Invites

*Membership is generally by invite only. We are looking for members with community/forum experience (not brand new to Steam) who contribute to the Steam Community and Forums by being helpful, sharing resources and creating an overall positive experience for Steam users. Minimal drama is also appreciated.

Due to changes to the invite system, you can only send group invites to people on your friend's list now. Alternatively, you can contact someone through a comment on their profile, link them to the group and let them know if they're interested to request to join the group. A group admin will review the join requests.

Admin/Moderator isn't given out as a status symbol. All group members are treated as equals. If you would like to suggest members to be invited you can also post here or talk to an admin/mod.

As the group overview states, we're looking for members who have a history of helping and contributing positively to the Steam Community in general. This can be through creating community guides and resources or being helpful in both the general forums as well as game specific forums. There isn't a set-in-stone requirement for "years of service" nor do you need to have 500+ pages of forum posts. Maturity and wisdom aren't limited to people with 10+ year old Steam accounts. Being old doesn't necessarily make you mature either.

-Need a friend? Have one!

If we're not already friends, feel free to add me (BossGalaga) if you want. If you have any questions, suggestions, comments or questions, feel free to post below or ask me personally.
