How to properly suggest a game in our forums!
Okay so suggestions as such were a big topic from the beginning on, since we started to get so many members and with that so much input, that it quickly became a bit overwhelming. lol Some thoughts about it can be read here.

But we gotta keep going, to make our "game inventory" as complete and usefull as possible! So what I want to do now is giving you all some kind of instructions, so that things go smoother for both sides:

First of all ofcourse, allways check back on our Current list of featured games, to not end up requesting a game to be added that is allready part of this group. Please also check back on this sub-forums about if there allready is a discussion going about your game, so that we don't get multiple suggestions at the same time for one game.

Now secondly, if you indeed have a new game to propose, make sure to give us all necessary informations about it, following this pattern:

1.)

Name of your game: ...
Link to the Steam Store page: ...

2.)

Information about its current state in terms of players: ...
  • How many people can be seen playing the multiplayer part when you look directly ingame? Are there lobbies avaiable or anything like that, and if so, how many of those are full?
  • What information about the playerbase can you gather from sites like steamcharts.com or other sources?
  • How does this compare with what you see ingame? Explain for example when a game has a Singleplayer component that this is increasing the player counts, but that the Multiplayer part is nevertheless abandoned, as the players ignore that one.
  • Finally ofcourse: taking all this together, can the game indeed be called dead? Or is it still doing fine instead? Don't forget: we need to keep focus in this group, or we might end up hosting stuff for games like CS:GO at some point, that SERIOUSLY don't need our help. haha :P

3.)

Information about its current state in terms of servers etc.(technical side): ...
  • Are there even any servers running on which we could join? Make sure you don't propose an unresurrectable game, which requires an official server but doesn't offer any.
  • If the multiplayer part is not based on classical servers, then what else is it based on? Can you for example easily host games in a lobby system and let others join your game?
  • Generally said: is this game's multiplayer part easily accessible for an average member of this group? Don't suggest games that require extensive precautions such as manual port opening and other complicated stuff. Same goes if a game would require someone to set up a private server for it, while you are not capable of doing that yourself. If you don't do it, then propably noone else will do so either.
  • What will not be a problem however is when just small, easy programs like Hamachi are needed. But make sure especially then to properly test it with someone if it works out.

4.)

And finally: Would you also volunteer to become a game mod for your proposed title once we featured it? Please note that only game mods and admins are able to host events for this group. So when a game has no mod, chances are very low for it seeing a resurrection event at all. Your tasks as a game mod would be to host events for your game, once per month at max, and stay in contact with interested players.
