PeTI M08`16: Funnel Transport (Won by:| \_/ ())
Current stage: The competition is over

This Monthly challenge
This challenge was submitted by: dire.fcs
The idea for this challenge is to do the following:
Create a map where using a funnel is the main objective of the map.

It can be either a blue or orange funnel or both, and they can be enabled or disabled at any time.

Somewhere in the map, the player has to interact with the funnel and/or activate/deactivate the funnel by transporting other elements, such as cubes, gel, etc.

The player must use a funnel to move through at least 2 different areas.

And we have a winner!

| \_/ () won this competition...
...with a nice total score of 19 points.

This weeks runner ups are: RectorRocks who came second with 15 points, and Hazellius who came third with 8 points.

This will be the last competition P2LC will do. This means, that you will not be able to tell us what the new competition rules will become if you win. But if you win, you can tell anyone you won the very last P2LC competition. So keep those maps coming. :) Now is your last chance.

If nothing else, I'll submit a screen shot before it ends.

Screen shot with highest resolution wins?

I refuse to miss the last opportunity to win a competition in this group. Here's what I put together these last couple of hours: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=752919681
I hope you like it, because it turned out better than I thought it would get.

My (admittedly rather rushed) entry. It might have states where you're forced to restart and/or might have map-breaking exploits.
I didn't have the time to polish it up to get rid of those potentialities. I only come across those with rigorous time-consuming testing.
I just thought I'd at least submit an entry to the final competition, even if it turns out to be a broken one :)

After 6 months of hanging my head over a "dead screen" rather than playing these and casting my vote... :p

1: ReactorRocks
2: Hazellius
3: IVO

And as for quatemary, it was sweet and short without a hint of challenge... The perfect thing to get me started after a long time of absence.

And so, may this contest RIP. It is a shame, because some people's ideas do spark some creativity. I guess we could just post random challenges every blue moon.

Thanks for drawing me out of my active lifestyle to play a few more Portal 2 chambers. It's been three months. My choices for placement didn't take much thought.

1. Libbybapa. Dude that map was really a fun and challenging puzzle. Your maps have come so far since we met. You used a relatively small area and made intreaguing use of your elements. Five stars from Sloppy!

2. IVO. I am not fond of goo puzzles but you forced me to enjoy this one. I haven't shot that much goo in a long time and this one made me want to go buy a pack of smokes. Nice work!

3. nintendo. I hate you for making me break out the host_timescale. I am an uncoordinated fleeb and could not gir-er-dun without a cheat. That being said it was actually very enjoyable to play. Billy the Kid would have loved this one!

It was fun to play through the various maps. It was a little hard for me to choose for first place.

1. Hazellious - I enjoyed the puzzle itself. Very clever use of the various components. It was a little hard for me to select the map as first because the layout could use a fair amount of work but the puzzle is there and I understand what it is to be rushed. I was also very rushed in making mine.
2. | \_/ () - The layout was well done. I enjoy more challenge but it was well done for an easy one.
3. nintendo - I prefer maps that are hard to figure out and easy to execute and this was the reverse. The solution was creative albeit a bit challenging to execute.

Had a tough time beating some of the maps, especially given I'm not the best portal2 player. I'm good in finding out-of-the-box solutions, but maps that are well built often don't allow for that, the maps in this competition included, mostly.

I only was able to do one small unintended thing in IVO's map, though I did saw the correct solution too.

That said, I carefully considered all entries but it was quite clear to me that I liked IVO's entry most of all, so he hits my nr 1 spot.

The nr 2 and 3 were more difficult. There were 2 maps that were standing out above the other entries for me, which were Nintendo.erk's entry and RectorRock's entry.

Many people did not see the correct solution for Nintendo.erk's map, and consider that last move a ninja move. I thought so too at first, but then saw the brilliant move which made it easy.

RectorRock's entry was quite easier than that, but it had some flair by itself. Playing with paint in a very controlled manner, turning it into a satisfying puzzle to solve.

Right at this very moment, I'm still having a hard time to choose between these too maps and I'd rather place both at 2nd place. Unfortunately I can't do that. For that reason I'm going to favor Nintendo.erk's map, reason being that last move which gave me that aha moment.

So my votes are as follows:

1. IVO
2. Nintendo.erk
3. RectorRocks

1) Funnelless Fix - IVO
Not the hardest. Not the prettiest. But it was the most fun one.

2) Cry - RectorRocks
Not the hardest. Not the prettiest. The second most fun.

3) Intractabeamable Vol 2. - Libbybapa
The hardest and the prettiest. Great map but suffered from overstaying it's welcome. The
first 3/4 of it was fun and challenging. Then it became work. Beautiful chamber though.
