Hero character/abilities/role/backstory creation thread
It would be likely that Valve and Icefrog will create new heroes when the originals come back. Until then, let us create our own to satisfy our wait until that time.

Basicaly,you can create a new hero's backstory, abilites or an entire hero. Like this one:

War
Dire Strength
Melee
Lore of War:
Being one of the four horsemen of half demons, he was the one who had the most pride. He enjoyed the development of the culture over at the isle of masks. However, during the great uprising against Demonicus and the isle of masks refusement, he decided to wage war on the masks for disgracing the bushido code. The isle was destroyed and he ruled that part of the world. He continued to wage war, looking for another chance to show his honour. He discovered a lone ronin, a survivour of the destruction of the isle. He has sided with the Dire for one chance to show his true strength

ABILITIES:
Greater Slash (No Target)
Will charge at a great speed so many units in the direction he is facing, dealing damage to all units he hits.
Damage: 100/150/200/250
Distance: 800/850/900/950
Mana: 175
Cooldown: 20
The key to winning war is to use greater blows to the enemy

Proof of honour (passive)
Every time War kills an enemy unit, he gains a stack of of honour. Each stack increases movement speed and attack damage. Creeps gives 0.5 stacks and heroes 5. War keeps the stacks until he dies.
Movement increase (Per stack): 1/3/5/7
Damage (Per stack): 2/4/6/8
Max stacks: 5/10/15/20
You must show your honour!

The honourable army (No target)
War summons two units under his control. One is ranged and one is melee. Each do damage based on a percentage of his strength and agility. (Ranged has the agility and the melee has strength)
Percentage of stats into damage: 40%/50%/60%/70%
Unit health: 100/200/300/400
Mana: 100/105/110/115
Cooldown: 30
Best thing about war is the opposing armies

[ult] CURSE OF WAR
Curses a target with thirst of war. The hero is silenced and is dealt massive damage if he does not kill a hero before the curse ends
Damage (Based on enemy health): 25%/50%/75%
Duration: 15
Mana: 300
Cooldown: 120
The curse of war is that you have to keep killing over and over. The moment you stop, is the moment you die.

It was replied to once and a half :D also I edited it a few times later on so look at the later entries. there more balanced after i made revisions. Currently working on a new hero...

Yes, but see, here's the thing:

Your whining about you not getting anyone to critique your half a year old post has now just hidden my current and challenge-relevant post behind a forum page. You have now made it so that someone who actually deserves a current critique will now potentially not get one.

I'm glad you're working on a new hero, but next time, try not to whine and ruin someone else's experience.

E- Channeled. 6 tunnel entrances that are all interconnected. didnt exactly write that though.
R- Well 50% minus armor is a lot from 35%. If anything then we can make it 50% +10 minus armor reduction.

LORE: Machines is the only thing Morls knew. Their entire existence depended on machinery. Every waking second is spent with a machine, so anything that dare say they are better is faced with stiff resistance. Nithans were the only thing that ever dared say boo to the Morl race. So came the war. Morls battled on for weeks against the Nithans trying to prove their superiority, but facing dire times as the Nithans out did their technology through their knowledge of magic. Enter Eragm. Eragm was a young Morl, just a few days off from the scarring ceremony and saw that his people wre dying. He had enough. He built a machine that defied his people's teachings and incorperated magic into it. He called it Draken mk 1. The Draken marched unto the battlefield, making the Nithans fearful of everything that Eragm did in his machine. Soon, came the construction of the Crimson core and the Draken Slayer. The rest of the story is the same as the ancient texts, except the Draken survived, with the pilot still intact. Eragm spent decades wandering through the wasteland that now divides the land of the ancients from any other lands. While on his journey, he discovered a fragment of the Crimson core and was excited. If he could discover the secrets behind it, any machine he wanted would be created. But, he needed time and time he did not have when someone discovered him. They asked who he was and what he had. Knowing that the Nithans appearence is lost in scriptures, he simply said he was the last Nithan and what he held was the Crimson core. Soon, people were coming all over to challenge him for it. His supreme skills with machinery allowed him to beat whoever dared challenge him. He is close to unlocking the fragment's secret and the knowledge of the Nithans.

APPEARENCE:
A vehicle covered in razor sharp spines and twin turrets. Transforms into a bipedal mech with wings.

ABILITIES
Launch (Point target)
Eragm launches his vehicle into an area, making him slide and stunning any in his path.
Distance: 500/700/900/1100
Slide distance: 200/300/400/500
Stun duration: 1.5/2/2.5/3
Mana: 175
Cooldown: 20/15/10/5

Missle strike (Point target)
Damage: Physical
Pierces spell immunity: Yes
Eragm prepares his missle canisters that fire in an area, damaging heavily. He fires one missle at a time.
Missle damage: 150/160/170/180
Missles: 2/3/4/5
Damage radius: 500
Mana: 175
Cooldown: 30

Power up! (No target)
Eragm revs his engine to go faster and have additional attack speed
Movement speed increase: 50/75/100/125
Attack speed: 25/50/75/100
Mana: 150
Cooldown: 15

[ULT] DRAKEN FORM (Toggle)
Eragm transforms his vehcile into the Draken. In this form, Launch has global range, Missle strike fires all missles at once and Power up! gives flying vision. Drains mana per second and gives additional damage. Mana cost for abilities are halved.
Damage increase: 20/40/60
Mana per sec: 50/40/30

RELATIONSHIPS:
Ivan the motorhead: Hot headed and loves flames. Challenge him in the ocean.
The mole: Can avoid hazards easily by digging under them. Need to challenge him in areas where digging is impossible or has its own hazards.
Klack and Rack: Typical explosive idiots. Anything that can damper their explsive possibilities is needed.
The War Chariot: Interesting experiment that I have never seen before. Need more research on it before I can assume how to deal with it.

someone could fabricate the rest of his abilities etc, but i think it would be cool if there was a hero who was like a prisoner, and he had heavy chains all over him, and his starting speed would be something like 200, and as you lvled his ultimate the chains would disappear and he would gain movement speed, until and its max he would gain max move speed, a true hard carry, with very poor early game because he cant chase or get away, but would end with permanent haste

Q - 1600 range of leap. pretty huge for a 5 second cooldown and 3 seconds of stun.
W - is the explosions in the area random? is it 2 missile per second?
E - duration?
R - i think the mana cost should be increased. especially since it heavily buffs Launch. Launch should defintiely have a huge cooldown.

yeah, i think 20's fine.

i probably won't be doing relationships this time around. the War Chariot doesn't care about anyone else. but it's hoping that the shard can destroy him.

Dude, I'm really sorry... But in this thread the way it works is... The longer you've been here the more critique you will get. I know from personal experience :) So just keep making heroes and don't hog attention cause that will make you unlikable. Ask for critique once, then let it be. Chances are, if we don't have anything to say, your hero is good

The Furniture Shape-Shifter Arnana

A hero that can turn into different kinds of furniture. That's about it really...

Q: Sofa [Toggle]
Arnana turns into a sofa. If a friendly hero sits in the sofa they cannot attack but can be attacked and regen a percentage of their max health and mana per second. When the ability is activated all nearby enemy units are stunned. Has a cooldown. Costs Arnana mana per second.
Regen (Health): 2%/3%/4%/5%
Regen (Mana): 4%/6%/8%/10%
Stun Duration: 1/2/3/5
Mana cost per second: 10/15/20/30
CD: 15

W: Washing Machine
Arnana targets an enemy hero. The hero is sucked into Arnana and then spit out in front of her with decreased permanent health and mana. The effect of this dispells upon death (NOT Aegis or WK ult). The hero is also stunned for a short duration.
Radius: 300
Decrease:50/100/150/225
Stun Duration: 2
Mana Cost: 100
CD: 60

Lamp
No cooldown. Reduces the visibility of all enemy heroes on the map at the cost of leaving Arnana with 100 visibility range. Can only have 3 stacks of the blind on enemies at one moment
Enemy Reduction: 15/25/35/50
Mana Cost: 75/75/75/100

Bookshelf
Boosts the primary attribute of all friendly heroes (including Arnana) and boosts damage of all controlled minions on the map. If Arnana dies all heroes and minions lose the buff. If a hero or minion dies it loses the buff. Can only be used twice per Arnana's life.
Boost:10/15/20 (Agh: 30)
Damage Boost (to minions): 50 (Agh: 100)
Mana Cost: 100/200/300
CD: 120/120/200

This hero has great synergy with: Lycan, Lone Druid, Beastmaster, Chen, Warlock. Basically any hero that can get a minion. It also works great with a hero like Riki or OD that rely a lot on their primary attribute.
