GUIDE: Install Older Version of VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI-
Hello Everyone,

If you are experiencing issues on a newer version of VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI- and would like to downgrade (or install) an older version of the game you can do so by following this rough guide.

  1. Go to SteamDB ( https://steamdb.info/ ) and search for VALKYRIE DRIVE
  2. Click on the App ID for VALKYRIE DRIVE (APPID 550080) and you will be taken to the games details page
  3. On the game details page click on the Depots tab and then click on the Depot ID for the version of the game you want to download (each of these IDs refer to a different version of the game with the most recent (228982) being version v1.05).
  4. Once on the Depot ID page click on the Manifests tab and copy the manifest ID (listed as MANIFESTID) that is shown.
  5. Now in Steam open up the Steam Console (steam://nav/console) and use the following code command format with the depotid and manifested of the version you wish to download:

    download_depot <550080> <depotid> [<target manifestid>] [<delta manifestid>] [<depot flags filter>] : download a single depot

You will need to change the <depotid> and <manifested> to the versions of the game you wish to download from steam. For example to download version 1.05 of VALKYRIE DRIVE you would replace the depotid, target manifestid and delta manifestid with the information found on SteamDB. For example:

    download_depot <550080> <228982> [<target 6413394087650432851>: download a single depot

When typing ithe command into the steam console it would look lsomething like this:

    download_depot 550080 228982 6413394087650432851

  6. Once the command has been entered successfully it will begin to download the older version of VALKYRIE DRIVE from steam. You won’t receive a progress bar but the content will download in the background. Closing Steam before the download is complete will remove the files.
  7. Once the download has been completed steam will show you where the files have been downloaded. You would now copy these downloaded files to the game’s installation directory on your computer. If VALKYRIE DRIVE was already installed we would suggest moving these to another folder.
  8. Once content has been moved you will now be able to load-up this older version of VALKYRIE DRIVE from within the Steam client.

This process should only be used for those experiencing major issues with the game or for those who had better performance on an older version of the game.

I would also suggest that automatic updates (for this game at least) be turned off for those wanting to use an older version of the game.

For the best experience I would advise staying on the latest version of the game.

I noticed this thread when it popped up and didn't comment, but thanks for the info! However, after further research (since it didn't work for another game I wanted to downgrade), I noticed the right command was something like this:
download_depot 550080 228982 6413394087650432851

Props to this guide and this image gallery[imgur.com] for the correct command.

This guide was based on the information in the thread you quoted; but i did it slightly different to illustrate how (and where) to input the information.

The given example is designed to be 'non working' - the actually working code would not require any of the "<" or ">" markings or additional text commands as illustrated in your reply.

Apologies if this wasn't clear in the original post; but I have edited the original post to make it slightly clearer.

No problem! It's just that I expected an out-of-the-box command ^_^'
