Questions for the Devs on the DLC/Update
So I've got a lot of little questions regarding this update and what you're willing to consider doing afterward, why wouldn't you do something, so forth. Some of it's just, what's your response to that? Which leads me to my first one:

Q: I will keep my "not recommended" review for the base game until RWBY gets a similar update to their moves. I will recommend the DLC, however. What's your guys' response to this?

Actual game stuff after that one I swear. I just wanted to leave you guys with that thought because I think this DLC is pretty good but I do not believe you've currently delivered a good platform for it. I hope it's not seeming petty, it's just that there's an asking price involved and what I think people get out of it.

Q: Since you guys have said you want to implement what's gone on with JNPR into RWBY if JNPR is successful, how does looking at adding specific layers onto the base game sound?

Q: Specifically, if I said:

Movement
Aerial combat/mechanics
Ranged attacks
Heavy attacks (those charge, remember? No, don't worry, I think it's dumb charging, I'm just emphasizing how they've been subject to conceptual drift)

Were all particularly weak parts of Grimm Eclipse as a platform, how keen would you guys be on making those not-so-weak/stronger points? How much effort would you guys be willing to commit, and what factors would govern that?

Q: If JNPR is a success, could those weak gameplay avenues potentially be explored upon and improved with further DLC? Testing the waters while applying the working parts consistently throughout the game (and DLC) in the form of continual support?

I hate to bring up Wargame, but their recent nation packs have seemed successful while following the same line of thinking, and I wouldn't be surprised if JNPR does well too.

Q: What's your guys' reactions to the changes to the flow, how do you feel about what JNPR has done for combat, and etc? I'm biased, and of course would like to see some other things than what happened, but I would say I'm largely pleased with the feel.

Q: Does it seem as if there's the opportunity to put the icing on the cake with JNPR? What factors would that be based on? While I think they came out extremely well, there's some subtle (and drastic) changes I think should happen.

I'd be lying if I said I feel like I didn't have a direct hand in some of the things you guys chose to do. It's going to be really ♥♥♥♥♥♥' cool if people enjoy it, but I'm glad you guys took the time to do some the stuff, that alone is pretty cool. I am certainly willing to shoot the ♥♥♥♥ in regards to anything action game related you guys do.

I would like to know this as well. JNPR's variety and combat style is excellent, I'm hoping RWBY gets the same treatement as well.

I am really glad other people are enjoying JNPR's combat. It's a good feeling, being, uh... Right, I guess.

I haven't played JNPR much, but it was really nice having a different skill tree for Pyrrha and Ren that wasn't their 'ranged attack'. I really hope that RWBY can get a similar upgrade to JNPR, and I'd be willing to pay more to see it happen.

Ruby's ranged attack skill tree can be improved so that the tier 2 and tier 3 upgrades actually do more damage alongside stunning enemies.

Weiss's linear skill trees have always made me feel sad. I hope that Weiss will eventually be able to use different types of Dust in her attacks - it's ironic that Blake uses more types of Dust than she ;_;

Personally I would prefer the 'counter mastery' perk to be replaced, too.

Off top of my head (at work so can't load up game) I really hope they change Blake's level 10 bonus that lets her go longer and get hit once without resetting her combo count. She really doesn't need that at all.

Glad to hear you're digging JNPR! To be honest, we actually stayed away from specific movelist suggestions, instead opting to look primarily at what the characters did in the show. But a few mechanical things things like air heavies grounding some characters and moving launchers to LH were absolutely inspired by the community.

I think the reason they feel as good as they do is because we tossed a lot of rules out the window. Things like upgrade trees being confined to Ultimate, Team Attack, and Ranged attack were a limitation, so we trashed it and just did what worked. I guess this time around it was more about building the mechanics/upgrades around the character's moveset rather than the other way around.

In regards to Team RWBY, since I was the one who initially expressed interest in revisiting them, I feel it's my responsibility to say we will not be doing that. I know it's not what everyone wants to hear, but as such a small team, we kind of all have to be moving forward in the same direction, and going back to make those changes at this point is just too much of a detour. I apologize for getting hopes up on that front, but it's what we've decided on.

For future content, it's tough to say. We literally just wrapped with JNPR, so the future is kind of up in the air at the moment. I think a lot of decisions regarding future content for GE will be based on how JNPR is received, so I'm sure we'll post an update when we've solidified what's next. In the meantime, we can all just fail miserably at getting "The Old Fashioned Way". I know I certainly will.

I agree with the opening post. Is there any chance for the combat to be revamped, even if new moves are not added? It still feels a bit stiff and limited.

Pretty much sums up my view on no future RWBY reworks.

Well, now that we know that team RWBY will stay the same, I guess I'll go back to my old opinion of this game: pretty decent, but if there's ever is a Grimm Eclipse 2, it'll probably be a lot better.

Sucks to hear about RWBY.

Can we at least get a visual update on them so they at least look as good as JNPR?
