Question about... cowardice.
So, I was fighting a guy outside of the Pontiff zone. It was a 1vs1, we did the bowing gesture, and whatnot.

To be honest, I don't really care about a lot of the things people get mad about in this forum. If the opponent heals, well... I can use an Estus, too. If he hides behing some enemies, well... I can kill those enemies, or summon phantoms, or whatever.

Anyway, I was fighting this guy, and, to be honest, I was winning. I was hitting him with... well, I was hitting him with my Shield, just for the hell of it.

All of a sudden, he turns around and starts running away.

'Smart guy, he's going to use the enemies as cover', I thought. Well, let's get it on.

But... all of a sudden, he kneels and starts disappearing.

I still couldn't process what was going on, since I never imagined I would encounter a situation like this. And, then...

What is this? Why don't you heal? Why don't you use the enemies as cover? Why don't you try to use every cheap tactic at your disposal? Why run away like a biotch? What makes a guy do this? Why not fight to the bitter -or happy- end?

I know a lot of hosts would do this when invaded if they could, but I've never seen a red do this LOL

Well, I summoned a dude to duel. Classic estoc buffer. I decided to counter his estoc with... my great shield. I two handed the big shield and just did the run R1, run R1, run R1... I don't feel bad about this because I don't like people using estocs... anyway, rather than accepting defeat, he black crystal out. Quite lame considering it wans't an invasion, but a duel.

It was funny though.

shouldn't name and shame a dude for playing though. low blow m8.

I wouldn't fight someone who was using both a greatshield and a dank sord either, to be honest.

I only black crystal out if the host is playing like a ♥♥♥♥♥ and just waits for me to attack, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring.

For all i know, you coulda had a dip in your connection, or were just constantly lagging, and the red decided he didn't want to deal with it and left.

actually, the black crystal is granted to all players. so no, I am not special for choosing not to fight someone I would rather not fight. you're pretty special for interpreting it that way, though.

he wasn't enjoying the fight so he left. summon someone else and get over it. maybe even consider fighting for real instead of screwing around so your opponent doesnt get bored and leave.

Either way no point to name and shame, he didn't do anything wrong. So he left, big whoop, just move on instead of getting butt-hurt that someone would rather leave than fight a dark sword and greatshield combo.
